Lovely menu with good service, bit of a special night out if you live in Swakop. Atmosphere can be a bit lacking if dining room quite. Very popular tourist hotel - lovely to stay at.
With multiple sauces for the asparagus and fish mixed together with various new but somehow confusing ingredients like the individually succulent kalahari Truffle, look no further. Formal ambience with tasty, well prepared dishes. Thumbs up seafood and red meat on a menu with variety. Hansa's staff provides good service and secures my return for more of the best in Swakop! Compliments to the chef!
Some folk think it's too formal but if you're a foodie then this is the place you'll want to eat. Great amuse bouche followed by amazing seafood and a wine list that's not too pricey. Service is first class and you'll probably think it a bargain after forking out for lesser quality cuisine in London etc.
As we enjoyed the food that much we ate two times at the Hansa. We had Impala Steak, Kudu fillet, Fish platter and soups. Everything was just fantastic. Very efficient and friendly service.
Nice wine list, very nice game, well prepared. Lots of very nice dishes on the menu, so difficult to choose!
Super, super pretentious. The bottom line staff were in uniforms like doormen from a bad movie. The top men were in very nice suits and were obviously chosen for their personality. Quite formal but relaxed surroundings, excellent, food and friendly staff. Add to that a piano accompaniment and it all added up to a perfect experience.
