Been to la place a few times the food is ok , I like the outdoor bar, you must try the Long Island ice tea they were great. The owner Simon is a bit of a tosser but all in all worth a visit
We went on Saturday night for dinner at 8pm and were the only 3 there which was a shame as it is a smarter looking bar! We ordered a pitcher of mojito which when it came was actually like cordial, water and rum with no fresh cucumber, mint or limes. The menu had something for everyone but like elsewhere in... More
I've stayed there one night and i can say it's a nice place. It's not only a resto bar but also a guesthouse. The room is ok but walls are thin so you can hear your neighboors. There's a view on the garden. Aircon, good bed, bathroom ok. In the morning i ate a very good breakfast. When you leave,... More
I've read the reviews on here and agree with most of them. Complaints about mosquitoes and scary T.V. for the kids are unwarranted. First of all, this is an open air resto/bar, it's not a family restaurant nor is it indoor and sealed off with air conditioning. Please use your judgement before entering and/or ordering at any establishment to make... More
Couldn´t beat the Maribago Grill but didnt disappoint us either. Music was too loud, so we had to choose the dark side of the restaurant. Kids were afraid of the program the TV was showing. I was glad blackout made the music quiet and turned the TV off.
Stayed 6-13 March 2013 and cannot speak highly enough of "La Place". Ethel is yr friendly and very helpful hostess, accommodation is stylish (love the river pebbles in the shower). Service quality is just that and the whole place had the right relaxed friendly vibe maxed out by the staff who always had a smile and friendly word. The icing... More
La Place is across the street from the much busier Maribago Grill. La Place is an outdoor restaurant, although there are sheltered areas where you can sit if it's raining. A log wall keeps out most of the street noise. There is rarely a crowd in La Place, making it a relaxing place to have a drink or a small... More
It's restaurant and guest house in one. Comparing to other guesthouses in a similar price level this is the best choice - nice rooms, hot watter, A/C, wi-fi, quiet place, friendly staff. Garden bar and restaurant is perfect for relax and good western cuisine is perfect if you have enough of rice. Tip: Tell the taxi-driver to go to Bluewater... More
We went for drinks and nibbles one weekday evening. The staff were friendly, the setting was good but it was a little quiet. I can imagine it's a fun place to be on a weekend, but I'd certainly recommend leaving your nearby resort to come here. The restaurant across the road is also very good.
