We were a group of 5 celebrating my daughter's PhD, I made my reservation for Sunday brunch about a month ago based on the reviews here at trip advisor, and I thank everyone who posted reviews. In our group 2 of us are vegan, the restaurant's website lists sample offerings and I called to confirm that there would be some... More

My wife and I had a wonderful birthday celebration at jack aliens and will be back shortly , if not for a celebration for a brunch or a late night dinner. Great service, great meals, kind service and reasonable prices. Good job.

Jack is almost always at his places and that makes all the difference. He's an authentic "foodie" and loves feeding folks. He uses lots of local ingredients and gives great attention to detail. Jack Gilmore also gives back to the community through charitable and culinary gestures on a regular basis. He is a true Austin treasure! Try the bacon wrapped... More

Have been to both locations and on a regular Sunday, if there early enough, it's easy to get seated. Loved the brunch selection. The cucumber salad is refreshing and delicious. There's a variety to choose from: salads, chicken, pork, enchiladas, chicken fingers, and an assortment of desserts. For weekday lunch, there's plenty to choose from too. The ingredients are fresh... I have visited probably a dozen times and would go more but it's sometimes so crowded you cant find a spot to park your car. That's the price you pay for being such a great restaurant in an area with relatively few choices. I had the "crispy salmon" well cooked and presented. They have a great half price apps until... Went to Jack Allen's on a Monday night to watch playoff basketball. The bar area is really nice PLUS there's an outside covered patio/bar that also has TVs. The food is sophisticated and delicious. The do comfort food in an upscale way. We had chorizo stuffed pork tenderloin, chicken nachotos, and the crab gratin with toasted ciabatta bread. I don't... More

We listen to our trip advisor and tried this place for a late lunch. We sat out in the patio and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The server was great, very friendly and the food was delicious. We highly recommend it.

I have eaten here probably 20-30 times. It is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. I live within 10 minutes, so the location to me is fine, but my friends only complaint is that it is located in Oakhill. Forget the location, THE FOOD IS WORTH IT. There may be something on the menu that I don't... More

Tasty, food! Chicken fried beef ribs, fish taco's, great burgers and pimento cheese. Have John wait on you, he's quite a character.

We had the best table in the house - at a window overlooking the creek. Our waitress, Sydney, was friendly, knowledgable and courteous. The food was delicious and fresh; the menu items were creative with lots of local ingredients.
