This place had a great selection of homemade ice creams. It is very busy, but worth the wait. Although, not cheap, the quality and serving sizes are awesome.
Yes, a wide variety but agree with other reviewer that quality (amount of cream?) and true flavor is lacking. I tasted three flavors and walked across the street to the competition. Friends joined me, tasted mine, dumped their "Pops" in the trash, and went in to get better ice cream. Prices on King St rediculous but sometimes one needs ones... More
This is the best ice cream place I've ever been to. Every flavor I tried was good and they have a huge variety. It was nice and creamy and tasted very fresh, and that's saying a lot since I'm from Oklahoma where diary products are brought in from down the street.
Pop's is my favorite ice cream shop in Old Town! They always have such a large variety of flavors and different creations to try. My favorite is the peanut butter ice cream with chocolate chips! There is always a line but it moves quick and the staff are always kind and considerate. I definitely recommend this place to anyone with... More
Pops is an Old Town landmark and its easy to see why. In addition to its adorable old fashioned ice cream parlor look, they serve DELICIOUS ice cream, made daily on the premises. They have many flavors to chose from and are happy to give you tastes. My favorite is the Pralines and Cream!!
I can only judge an ice cream parlor on the quality of the ice cream. I had the Cleveland Brownie and was vanilla ice cream with a fudge brownie and fudge cream. Although the brownie part was good, the ice cream itself had ice crystals in it. This is a sign of lower than normal cream content (to save cost)... More
Ice Cream was bland. We had 6 different types of ice cream and not one was good. Why people stand in line I don't understand. Atmosphere was cool but I would rather have good ice cream. Bland favors we had were : chocolate, coffee, coffe expreso , coffee butterfinger, vanilla. Ok I know 3 were coffe based but still they... More
This is my favorite ice cream place in the world--and I've been to lots of ice cream places! The variety is hard to beat, and they'll do just about anything ice cream-related--malts, shakes, sundaes, brownies a la mode, toppings, syrups, waffle or sugar cones, or just in a cup like I like it. =) It's adorable inside (think 40s/50s ice... Stopped into Pops for "desert" after a meal in Old Town. Am a big frozen yougart fan. Had a medium cup of vanilla and chocolate twist for about $5. It was an extremely large portion. The texture and taste were excellent. They had a very large selection of ice cream. It was still crowded at closing time, and the all... More
My wife and I stopped by after having a meal at a local restaurant. We were impressed with the parlor style decor and the ambiance. It was like we stepped back into the 50's. They had about 25-30 flavors available. We chose the mint chocolate chip -- was wonderfully creamy and rich. If we are ever back in Alexandria, we... More
