We were looking forward to trying the authentic Churrascaria experience after having tried a few in Sydney. The quality of meat at the Sydney based Churrascarias has always been quite good so my expectations were very high. Our hotel in Copa recommended this restaurant and organised a taxi to take us there. The restaurant itself is quite large and accommodates... More

I have been to several steak houses (churrascaria) in Brazil and I have to say this is the best from all. This restaurant is nicely placed near Flamengo beach and you can see sugar loaf. Service is excellent and they keep the standard really well. However, I have to note that, all these good things don't come for cheap price.... More

Porcão is a place you have to go when in Rio. Rodizio (all you can eat) concept is very common in Rio, and the best one is Porcão, which is a Churancaria, which specializes in beef. It is a little bit pricy, but if you do not fall into temptation and do not eat anything from the salad bar/buffet (which... More

Porcao Rio's is a quintessential Brazilian BBQ place. Beautifully located, overlooking the ocean, and serving a huge range of BBQ-ed meat. In addition thereto, there's a large salad bar and a (mediocre) offering of sushi. Forget about those though, the only reason to come here is the quality and quantity of the meat. Come prepared, don't wear tight skinny jeans... More

We asked our concierge for a typical Brazilian BBQ place and she sent us to this restaurant. The food was very good - tons of meat and a great salad bar and sushi bar. That said this is not the kind of place you want to go for a romantic first date. It is loud and there are many tables... More

You start with the superb salad, sushi and assorted fish bar, but this is about the meat, so don't eat too much at the help yourself buffet. The signature Brazilian drink is the Caipirinha made with cachaça. Porcao also offers a vodka version, but I recommend the cachaça. If you don't like it too sweet, ask to have only a... More

It was an endless parade of grilled meats. Suggest you skip the salad bar and be prepared not to have any room for dessert. Skip the rice and all other carbs! The waiter will give you two round cards [1 red and 1 green] for you to use to indicate whether you want more or you have had enough. Don't... More

I've dined (or rather pigged out) here twice now on two business trips with colleagues. The first time I was not very hungry and wasted too much of my apetite by going to the salad bar first, which, by the way, is awesome. The second time I was hungrier and started with the meat first. Pace yourself and try not... More

If you can eat as much as a pig ...(hence the name of the place) It is a all you can eat barbecue, drinks are very expensive and sometimes the waiters push drinks on you. Food is excelent, the meats are a heavenly place for carnivores. Try it for a late lunch.

This place was touted as a must do by every tour guide, but also by the local foodies too. It did not disappoint on any level. Fabulous non stop BBQ meats as fresh and steamy as humanly possible. Excellent service and excellent atmosphere. A carnivores delight. Be careful not to fill up at the salad, its as big as my... More
