On a blistering hot summer afternoon, why will anyone jostle with over a hundred sweaty, famished and slightly desperate diners to get into an eating joint? Because it's Andhra Bhavan. With no parking space, nothing much to speak of in terms of ambience or choice, what possible reason could someone go through such hassles to eat at Andhra Bhavan? The... More

Mama - what to say????? Whole of South India in all its culinary fineness brought North! Not just a taste of Andhra, but like what your grandmother would make if she was from Andhra - just go try it once - you'll be hooked!

I love to eat here. We go here when we are bored of north Indian food and want to try some south Indian food. In weekends, its crowded but staff manages the seating well. The basic platter is unlimited. Chicken curry and fish curry are both amazing. Its a cultural centre's canteen, not a restaurant, but food is quite good.... More

The good points first, the food is simply delicious and very very reasonably priced. Breakfast is for a mere 55 rupees where you are served a wonderfully soft idli, a crisp vada and a dosa along with tea or coffee. Lunch and dinner are for 100 rupees, unlimited servings. I have eaten the best ever bhindi and biryani at this... More

After a years break I'm back at the AP Bhavan canteen. The thali at AP Bhavan canteen is not only filling but also tasty and spicy enough to activate your spicy tastebuds. It also costs less than $4. As always I freaked out on eating rice mixed with rasam &,chutney powder with a whiff of pickle. This is a must... More

The place has good south Indian food. At Rs 200 a thali, you can have unlimited rice with 3 veggies/curries and a chicken/mutton dish. The sweets are rationed.. The atmosphere is exactly like a canteen and the service is extremely quick.. Great for a quick and filling bite and for a taste of south Indian food... Be ready to take... More
