This place is great if you want to experience what the locals eat and not the tourist traps. The owner is really nice and amount of food you get for what you pay is unmatched in town.

My husband got the pork and I had the chicken. Both came with galo pinto, a red beet salad and we both left full and happy.

After a long day of travel from Chicago, we arrived at our hotel exhausted and hungry. Instead of ordering room service we ventured back into town in the rain to find Soda Viquez, and I am so glad we did. The casado con pescado was so amazing--and cheap! All the different sides that came with it were delicious, and the... More

We stopped in for lunch and our meal was quite good. The restaurant was very busy and for a little while we wondered if anyone was going to come over with a menu. Good food. Good prices.

Price was right and staff were warm. Typical food for the area with a good selection of drinks. They have fast food, hamburgers etc. as well as casados.

Family of four ate at this open air diner for lunch and we all enjoyed our meals - but the "iced tea" (Tea Frio) was by far our favorite! The closest thing we could relate it to was a blended Arnold Palmer! YUMMY!!

My husband and arrived in Costa Rica, and after getting to our hotel after a long flight were ready for a typical Tico meal before calling it a night. Based on TripAdvisor reviews I had Soda Viquez earmarked for a visit but I checked with our driver from the airport and the taxi driver from the hotel - both locals... More

Some locals told us to go to some fancier places, but we just wanted a typical meal. So based on trip advisor we went to Soda Viquez and I'm happy we did. It was delicious. The casado plates are HUGE, with about 6 sides or so. The fresh fruit shakes are also really good. And it is very cheap, especially... More

That covers it all. Great Costa Rican food, atmosphere and service. A little hard to find, like everything here, but worth it.
