This place is great if you want to experience what the locals eat and not the tourist traps. The owner is really nice and amount of food you get for what you pay is unmatched in town.

My husband got the pork and I had the chicken. Both came with galo pinto, a red beet salad and we both left full and happy.
After a long day of travel from Chicago, we arrived at our hotel exhausted and hungry. Instead of ordering room service we ventured back into town in the rain to find Soda Viquez, and I am so glad we did.

We stopped in for lunch and our meal was quite good. The restaurant was very busy and for a little while we wondered if anyone was going to come over with a menu. Good food. Good prices.
Price was right and staff were warm. Typical food for the area with a good selection of drinks. They have fast food, hamburgers etc. as well as casados.

The casado plates are HUGE, with about 6 sides or so. The fresh fruit shakes are also really good. And it is very cheap, especially...

nice place to grab some tipica tico food. we had the casado with fish and casado con pollo, nice sized portions with some left over for lunch the next day.
That covers it all. Great Costa Rican food, atmosphere and service. A little hard to find, like everything here, but worth it.
