rich middle aged white ladies have tea here. Dull unless you are one of them. It's all pretty and most of the baked goods are excellent, though expensive
Popped in because I was walking past and it looked so lovely. What a magnificent array of cake and pastries and everything we tried was amazing!!! The owner/manager came and told what everything was. She was so friendly and helpful. Beware, it is quite pricey.
The patisserie is a very small and cute European type eatery with pies, tarts and fresh salads with an array of freshly baked cakes and biscuits. A lovely lunch or coffee outing. The only downfall is that the portions are quite small and food over priced but otherwise worth a try.
I have always loved the Patisserie. Their salmon fishcakes are so incredible that I phone and pre-order them. I have never seen any food item disappearing so fast. I am a tea and cake lover. Very little compares to the delights found in Patisserie. When you enter, you feel like you have entered paradise for ladies. La patisserie offers the best macaroons in johannesburg which are crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside(R20 a pop). My favourite are the lavender & rose petit fours. there's a table laden with freshly baked, homemade goods - brownie cheesecakes, brownies, carrot cakes, little tartlets, red velvet cupcakes..
