Great food. Huge portions. Sit outside with the locals. Order at the counter and food is brought out to you. Perfect place to eat at the beach!
My boyfriend and I took a motorcycle trip along the PHC and stopped at Swami's (a local recommended it) for breakfast. It was even better than we had imagined. Fresh squeezed juices, organic everything and wonderful prices! Check out the post on our blog to read more! http://mrandmrsadventure.com/2013/04/16/motorcycling-along-the-pch/
If you want to experience the real vibe of this area - you must have breakfast or lunch at Swamis. It is a real locals place! The food is real down to earth - pan fried potatoes, scrambled eggs & omelettes, sandwiches, salads, pancakes, waffles French toast, burritos, wraps. My favorite is the tofu stir fry. Also try the 'Swamis... More
This cafe is your typical health food lovers spot. Lots of breakfast options and specials written on a chalkboard. Huge burrittos in whole wheat tortillas. The acai and pityaia bowls are yummy with homemade granola and fresh local bee pollen. Seating is outside but you can order to go and enjoy on the beach just across the street. A surfers... More
This is as close to a food cart kind of meal that you can find in San DIego. It is a small place with outdoor seating exclusively. The food is healthy and very limited but delicious. We do this for Sunday breakfast and bask in the sun while eating. Dont expect fancy. Metal tables and chairs, paper napkins etc., but... More
Driving up the coast from La Jolla and noticed a large crowd waiting to get in to Swami's cafe. My husband pulled a fast right and we luckily found a parking spot just next door. The line was probably 15 people deep but moved quickly. We ordered a BLTA sandwich and an Acai bowl. The sandwich was good but dry... More
when in encinitas, don't miss swamis, especially for breakfast. exclusively outdoor seating, with great egg and fresh fruit and granola offerings. very cool and very typical for SoCal.
Love Swamis. They have a board full of specials each day as well as a full menu. Vegetarian, meat lovers, Health conscious - they have it all covered. Excellent coffee as well. Most of the seating is outside, so dress appropriately. Located right on the 101 and across the street from the beach. Love it.
Other people ordered, ate, and left before we got our food.( Did not get the correct orders either) Staff did not care one bit. Too bad , as the food was wonderful.
We chose to have breakfast at Swami's because they advertise multi-grain pancakes and waffles. We thought it would be fun to sample some local color in an outdoor cafe. Their capuccinos are excellent, but their food was disappointing. When the pancakes and the waffle arrived, we asked if they were multi-grain because they looked as if they were made of... More
