My boyfriend and I went here for out one year anniversary. This place was amazing I really enjoyed their food. we did the chef menu which was a 12 course tasting menu and love it all. I must say though I am a big fan of seafood and three quarters of the meals was seafood, I was in love. The... More

Providence is certainly the best seafood oriented restaurant ever in LA .The only LA restaurant that was ever at this level was Bastide and unfortunately it has closed. There is no weak point in the food ,ambiance or service. .The staff was attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant is beautiful but not in the best section of town. The food was fresh... More

A delicious dinner from start to finish. Inventive, tasty, simple in its sophistication. The 5 courses $80 is a very good value. Well, except for the bread which is not on par with the rest of the food. Excellent but a bit obsequious service. Superb wine list with the right vintage. It was mythird visit in two years and they... More

I've been in the restaurant business as an owner for almost 25 years and thus have experienced and endured numerous reviews, fortunately most being positive and of course some negative. It's never easy to be on the receiving end of a bad review but we do our utmost to exceed our guests expectations in all situations both good and bad.... More

I dined in this establishment with my family tonight, and had to write my review immediately, while fresh in my memory. The restaurant is lovely with a quiet kind of not in your face ambiance. The menu, while somewhat confusing was patiently explained by our server. There is a tasting menu with wine pairing with 5, 6 or 7 courses.... More

We got off to a bad start when we were greeted at the entrance by a rat. Then the sommelier tried to advise us about the wine list before we had even seen the food menu. Service was abrupt and perfunctory and the food was very average indeed. I was there because good reviews made me think it would be... More

Awful decor. For example, the carpet does not match the drapes separating the dining rooms. The decorations are a mish mash of nonsense. Mushrooms growing out of the ceiling? Really? The chairs are unremarkable and less than comfortable. The tables plain and common. Bad service. Too much staff, hovering all the time. Some at the reception with mildly bad attitudes.... More

5th restaurant on my culinary tour. Disappointing to say the least. Only the awesome dining companion made up for the dinner. Oysters were the delight of the meal. That should tell you what you needed to know. Cocktail was good but not special. Kumamoto oysters were excellent and fresh. Minonette dressing was slightly too acidic I felt. Cocktail dressing brought... More

The reputation of Providence had me expecting a world class dining experience, especially for a Prix Fixe with 3 courses at $95 (with wine, service and taxes to be added of course). The reality was bad beyond belief. Appetizer: uncooked and inedible lobster (they took it back). Main course: turbot, pure grease on top, oily below (I managed two bites,... More
