We went here the Saturday night before Mother;s Day . The staff here is great. We arrived with no reservations and even though they were packed, Tina was able to seat us at an outside table. The weather was perfect. Bobbie was our server. She was very friendly and pleasant. She suggessted the duck for dinner and it was everything... More

Six of us had a wonderful lunch on the patio with great service and food. Murphys is a fun little place to shop, taste wine and eat at fun places like Alchemy!

We went here on Mother's Day and managed to get a table on the patio. They had a guy singing live music with canned tracks and he was pretty good. The patio and the partially live music made for a great atmosphere. My wife had the salmon salad and I had the meatloaf.that came with salad and fries. We both... More

Our food and service were both good. Great breadsticks too. We split the entrees and had plenty of food. Our waiter was very direct and no nonsense, so know what you want! We would go back.

We just spent 2 days in the Gold Country and just fell in love with Alchemy! We ate there both nights! The first night we sat outdoors. It was perfection.....warm evening. They have a fabulous list of beers which is fun but we're more wine drinkers and they had a not huge but thoughtful list of wines....many of them local.... More

We were in the Calaveras and Amador county areas enjoying some great wines. At one of our winery stops we asked for a dinner recommendation and Alchemy was the first place they suggested. We sat on the patio and brought our own local wine (no corkage fee). I had the daily special and they split one of the dinners in... More

We all loved this cafe in Murphy's, CA on our way to visit Mercer Cavern. They have a fabulous wine selection and the server was very knowledgable and helped us choose local wines that were perfect. For lunch, We recommend the Thai salad and the Wedge salad and the kids menu was great too! I would order that Thai salad... More

Alchemy has an "early diner" special - which is great in Murphys because it's more of a day town. It included a lovely red pepper soup, entree and dessert. Local wine list. Very enjoyable.

The food is good but nothing spectacular. You can generally count on all the dishes to be good just not as refined as say V Restaurant. Thai chicken salad is a good choice. Very good wines by the glass.
