Description: Bistro 29 located in downtown Santa Rosa, Sonoma County. Bistro 29 is a traditional bistro specializing in “Breton” regional cuisine. The number 29 comes from the department of Finistère (end of the earth) located in the upper tip of north-west France. Went to Bistro 29 for a small group meal and were not dissapointed. The staff were friendly and very efficient and the food was some of the best on our 2 week trip. Serving sizes were just right with an emphasis on quality over quantity, which is what I prefer. A good wine list that was reasonably priced as you... More

8 foodies enjoyed excellent service in a cozy bistro atmosphere. Their pri fix menu and paired wines were quite good and very reasonably priced. Wine list is not large, but has a broad enough selection and covers appropriate price points. They put obvious effort into having wines that pair well with their foods...and they make frequent changes as necessary. EVERYONE... More

Took my girlfriend for her birthday celebration and we were both overall happy, but not impressed. The signature buckwheat crepe with ratatouille was non-too flavorful, just ok. The Pernod cream sauce was tasty with the mussels. The braised "daube of beef" was not very flavorful and the wine reduction rather thin, not very concentrated flavors. The potato croquettes that accompanied... More

We love this place, the food, servers, owner/chef, are all of our reasons for coming back again and again! Last night the duck confit was so tasty that I wanted to lick my plate! As it was I picked up the bones and enjoyed every morsel attached! The salad had a dressing of blue cheese and the flavors were subtle,... More

It is restaurant week in Sonoma County and we just had dinner at Bistro 29. The food was excellent. The servings are modest sized and you wonder if you are going to be hungry when the meal is over, but by the time you finish, you know you will be walking slowly to your car because you are so full.... We came here tonight without reservations, and the owner/manager was more than happy to accomodate us on a very busy night. We like sitting at the bar, and had excellent service and the full menu available. They have an excellent wine list, both by the glass and by the bottle - not the usual options you see - even in... Bistro 29 just celebrated their 5 year anniversary and here's to more! The chef is brings a bit of France to Santa Rosa with exquisite menus that make your mouth water from crepes to steaks an seafood that is just divine. We tend to eat vegetarian and the chef also manages to keep us very happy! Plus a great wine... More

This was our second trip to Bistro 29 and sorry we waited awhile to go back. The $29 prix fixe is offered Tues-Thurs every week, with a different menu each week. Four courses and all great - the duck confit amuse bouche with chutney; asparagus soup (mild flavor with crispy crouton tidbits); fantastic pork shoulder on potato puree; and a... More

We had a large group at dinner recently, and each person ordered a different entree. The steaks were quite good and the lamb was reported to be excellent. The cassoulet was a bit dry and lacked much in the way of sausage. Wine list was excellent, with some French wines in addition to the California wines. We would have stayed... More

Our Midwestern law firm was holding a firm retreat in Sonoma County and we reserved Bistro 29 for a Saturday night dinner. The facility and the dinner were exceptional. Cocktails and appetizers were served in amongst the table so it was a little congested and I did not see the appetizers until after we sat down for dinner. We were... More
