This is a local restaurant for us that we found on trip advisor. Having gone to all of the fine dining in Walnut Creek, this place did not disappoint. Prices reasonable for the quality.

This place is special. We ate here based on an OpenTable search, and are so glad we did. Everything is fresh and oh, so tasty. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food--well, not only is it delicious (try the seafood pasta or the pork chop), but the prices are very, very reasonable. The wine selection is not wide,...

There are some great restaurants in Walnut Creek, and I've had some really great meals here. My dinner at Ottavio last weekend was the best. Really outstanding Italian cuisine in a smallish, intimate environment with great service. I opened with calamaretti e piovra alla griglia con ruchetta e speck (Grilled octopus and calamari with arugula and smoked prosciutto) and it...

My husband and I recently dined at Ottavio's for the first time. It was a rainy night during the week and we had no reservation. We did what we have been doing the past couple of weeks and just said where ever we find a parking spot (a challenge in downtown Walnut Creek), that's where we'll be dining. This time,...

This has become my " go to" restaurant when I have visitors or a special occasion. This is authentic Italian food, prepared by an authentic native of northern Italy. The sugos are all wonderful, rich, and hearty. The owner-chef does his own charcuterie and makes the pasta in house. The gnocchi are delightful feather-light pillows of ricotta, and with the...

We had been skeptical of yet another Italian restaurant in town when it took over the space of the excellent French Le Bistro, but we found the room to be beautiful and the food excellent. The chef himself welcomed us and took our order, and since we know little about Italian wine he made an excellent suggestion. My wife enjoyed...

Our dinner Wednesday night was fabulous. The heirloom tomato salad was the best I've had anywhere: tasty, generous in portion and with a lovely light dressing. My veal was also excellent. My only wish is that they had tablecloths which I much prefer! Plus the waiter should know who ordered what and not have to ask each time he brought...

The Bay Area has many amazing Italian restaurants and Walnut Creek's Ottavio must be put on your "must go" list! Our last dinner was totally memorable and I can't wait to return! We began with the "Antipasto Della Tre Venezie" and then the baby lettuce, beets, and radish salad. The star was the grilled veal T-bone! My wife love the...

We took our daughters and their husbands to Ottavio yesterday afternoon, and everyone enjoyed the experience. We ordered three appetizers. Wow, they were simply delicious and prepared perfectly. The entrees were similarly nicely prepared, creative and delicious, with an eye-pleasing presentation. The wines were very reasonably priced, and there was a small but good selection. The prices were reasonable for...

Our first dinner here. 2 dishes were quite tasty; 2 were very salty. The duck with polenta was very salty. Pasta with wild boar very tasty. Service was fine and the chef/owner checked with us several times during the dinner.
