We ate lunch here, it was ok. Decent burgers, a bit disappointed with the malt I had. Lots of flies everywhere while eating on the patio which was obnoxious.
Looked for a place to eat in Pagosa Springs on our way to South Fork. Saw this neat little place called The Malt Shoppe at the east end of town, which reminded me of the old fashioned malt shops that I used to eat at as a kid. What a disappointment. We ordered a 1/4 lb. hamburger and an ice... More
EVERYTHING is made to order and fresh....we love to stop...a locals place, as well. always busy, but worth the wait and BE SURE TO HAVE A MALT!
I really want to give this place 5 stars, but it just misses the mark. It's cute, has an old-time atmosphere, but it's always SO hot and stuffy when we've been there (not the refreshing cool you'd expect in an ice cream shop) and the orders take forever to come out. I'd like to chalk it up to small town,... More
We go here often for a malt, shake, or sometimes a banana split. (Make sure at least two people are hungry and share the banana split). Always good. The waffle fries are good too.
Out door patio overlooking the San Juan river. Great bannana splits and ice cream sundaes. Hometown burgers and waffle fries were great. A family run place. Not the place for a clean freak was a little crusty around the edges if you know what I mean. But overall typical for a decent burger joint.
Always a wait. Good Hamburgers the old fashion way with shredded lettuce, tomato and onion on a crispy bun. Get the Half pound option. The quarter pounder seemed light. Waffle fries are very good. SPF t ice cream and chocolate / Vanilla twist are good. Try the coffee ice cream. Dogs are good and so are the root beer floats.... More
We have been coming to Pagosa for 20 years. Most trips have included a trip to the Malt Shoppe. My personal favorite is the waffle fries - but my family enjoys the malts and ice cream cones. The cones are HUGE!
Shakes were made with soft serve ice cream We ordered a chocolate and strawberry The shop was a little dirty too!
We stopped here for a malt shake and wound up eating lunch here too. The burgers were delicious. The malt shakes were the hit though. The kids had over 20 flavor choices and wanted to go back for more the next day.
