We always go to Schooners when we are in town. Their meals are consistently good. Their fish is fresh and they have a large variety of entrees and appetizers.
We ordered the Fish and Chips and the Grouper sandwich for lunch. Service was quick and good, but portions very skimpy for their inflated prices. Instead of two fillets for the fish as in the typical fresh fish and chips dish, they had 5 small fish fingers, tasted fresh and good but not worth $16. The rice that came with... More
I was in the Jupiter area and stopped in Schooners for lunch. I was waited on promptly and I asked the waitress for recommendations, she gave a few choices and I selected the mixed grill , a combo shrimp, scallops, fish and chicken on a bed of rice with black beans and cole slaw with tomato slices. Excellent !
I have been a "regular" diner at Schooners for more than 25 years. Throughtout that time, the high quality food and consisitently good service have never wavered. Most of their seafood is caught locally and is fresh daily. Two must haves are the cobia and the wahoo whenever they are available. Always excellent are the grouper and the mahi-mahi which... More
They buy most of their fish is fresh local caught, just ask and your server will tell you. I highly recommend cobia or wahoo
We went to Schooners while returning from a short road trip. It is a nice, small place, very comfortable with a "Cheers" feel to it with all the locals. Nice happy hour with $1 drafts was a good find. There are several other places in the vicinity and this is a good place to start. We just had a couple... More
I guess the majority of folks love to eat food covered up with cream sauces...fried foods and overly seasoned foods. We are health conscious and like good quality food done simply. When you have a smaller menu, higher quality food and less garbage done to it...that is delicious clean eating and you don't mind paying a high dollar value for... More
This is a great place for happy hour drinks but it ends too soon. They could use a bigger bar. They have to many locals and the seats are taken too quickly. But there is usually a nice guy that will give you a seat. The food is excellent. No happy hour food, which is fine with me, they do... More
I grew up vacationing in the pan handle of Florida where the seafood is divine. We've been coming to Palm Beach for several years and while I've had some good meals, I hadn't found "my kind" of seafood place. Schooners is now that place. It's not fancy and the decor is outdated, but the food was delicious. The dolphin was... More
Eaten there many timer and food is great and wait staff is great. But, the maitre' d's need to be more qualifed for a restaurant that busy. Was told we had a 20 minute wait, but it was 1 hour and 20 minutes before we got seated. The maitre 'd's don't have a clue. Don't take reservations, even for a... More
