food was just average, but expensive. the did have live music and waterfront. Not really ovean front, just water front.

I think Snapper's is a good place to go sit outside on a nice day and order some appetizers and a drink, and that's exactly what we did. I don't consider Snapper's a dinner destination. If you want a nice waterfront atmosphere for lunch or apps, decent chowder, fritters, etc., Snapper's fits the bill.
Location is very good - sitting right by the water - seeing the fish in the water. We had steak and Mahi - food was good but not perfecy. Location though tops it.
I live in Key Largo, (yes a local) my daughter and son in law took my husband and I out for Mother's Day dinner. We had a reservation inside with a nice view. Our dinner had just arrived when a large family arrived with 4 men, 1 women and approx 8 children. The children's ages appeared to be from 7...

I was there with a group and we sat at two tables. Our waiter was new and didn't know a lot about the menu or drink options. The other table had an experienced waiter but they reported she wasn't too helpful and argued when one person pointed out the dessert was still frozen and not edible. You can sit in...

Great location for an early evening drink but unfortunately the food was not great. I had the Fish burrito which seemed to have been frozen and reheated. The shrimp were very hard. My wife had the Mahi Mahi which was overcooked. Would return for the drinks and location but not for food.
Dinner at Snappers is always a treat. Well-prepared and tasty with often creative specials. Every table has a spectacular view that is uniquely "Keys-y". I only wish the servers were a bit more personable and engaging - though this may be the result of the volume this restaurant serves. The Turtle Club at the back of the property makes up...

The food was incredible. The conch chowder was some of the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot...comparable to Louie's Backyard in Key West). Everyone's meal was incredible. we all had fresh fish and it was so good, cooked nicely, great flavor. The outdoor seating is in a great atmosphere.
On our recent visit to the Keys, my husband and I stayed at Dove Creek Lodge which is right next door to Snapper's. Very convenient! We arrived at Snapper's for a late lunch, were seated on the deck, and had two of the specials: lobster bisque and a salad with sundried tomatoes. Both were excellent! The following day, we tried...

We ate at Snapper's twice, once on our way down to Key West and then on our way home. The food both times was really great. We had mostly seafood during our visit, including the mussels and oysters. They were wonderful! The service on the first day, was Miki the bartender and he was great. However, today we sat at...
