We had trouble getting into the Island Cow as the bugs were eating us alive. Luckily Doc Ford's was open with good food (fried shrimp and sandwich).

Second visit for us to Doc Fords. The food is really fresh and well prepared. The service and the atmosphere are great. The Yucatan Shrimp are fantastic - as are the raw oysters. The Mojito is delicious, too! It is overall a good restaurant. I recommend giving it a try.
It is what it is - a Sports Bar. Typical food - not too bad. A little noisy and not very clean. Perhaps when they move to the new location things will be better. Been to both existing locations and the food is so salty my ankles and hands were swollen before I left the building.
Island style shrimp and grits was really good-would get again. Service-server Mary-was great. She knew the beers and suggestions were 'spot on'. Would come back.
Been here several times, it's a fun atmosphere with pretty good food. My wife likes the crab cakes. There is a reason the locals really enjoy this place, the drinks are great! Will continue visiting this place.
Second visit to Doc Fords. It is in a good location just down the road from Ding Darlings on the way to Captiva. The food is okay, not great, but not bad either. We sat outside for lunch on a nice day which was nice. The service was very good, but the rum was the best part...at least for me....

Wait time was long for an outside table, ended up taking an inside table. Our waitress was wonderful!!!! Food was good but nothing exceptional. Drinks were very good. Nice place...lots of people there having a good time.
We went on a recommendation and were quite glad we did. They were very busy but also very attentive & hospitable from start to finish. Our party of seven had to wait awhile and the boss touched base with us three times during our wait (and we didn't even complain about the wait?). The waitress promptly took our drink order...

This is a busy 'destination dining spot' - we ate indoors on a busy Saturday. Crab cakes were tender and moist - no greasy crust. Quesadillas (sausage, shrimp, and cheese) were delightful; mango chutney was very good, the curry taste without bite. Cuban sandwich was delicious. Best pie we found!
I left hungry after my $24 dinner plate. The food was what I could get at home. My companion thought it was better than I did
