My wife and I went to Cafe Thirty A upon the recommendation of several friends. We were not disappointed. We started with the world famous Quail and Grits. Probably the best grits I have ever eaten! We followed with the Heirloom Tomato and hand Made Mozzarella Salad. This dish while tasty was the low point compared to the others. I... more

I must have driven by it a dozen times. A friend had her birthday celebration there and the meal was great so I decided to take a foodie friend there who was visiting. We did a sample tour trying the mini-courses of grilled quail with grits & sage fritters, duck salad, beef carpaccio, and crab cakes. She made an excellent... more

Excellent service and atmosphere. I had the Hawaiian butterfish and companion had the Filet Mignon. Both were outstanding. I would recommend the Banana Beignets for dessert. Beautiful view of the water. Parking is limited but they do offer valet parking. more

An excellent choice for a romantic dinner--consistently good--nice wine list---not pretentious. If you go, you MUST order the quail and grits appetizer. This has been on the menu for many years and is unbelievably tasty. Many years ago on our first visit a friend made me swear I would order it although it's not something I would normally order--have had... more

What a great meal!! This restaurant has a great feel...it seems classy and active and fun but not loud. The bread/olive oil was good, not great. The appetizers we had, quail & grits and the crab cake were FANTASTIC! Even if you do not like or want to eat quial, get the grits..I cannot begin to describe how good and... more

Small servings that are over priced. Menu choices are very limited: You had better like seafood to enjoy a meal here. Food was decent, but certainly not impressive enough to go back. After paying top dollar to eat here we left hungry and went somewhere else for desert. more

I had not been to Cafe Thirty A for several years and was really looking forward to going there. The food wasn't bad, but it didn't make you say Wow. It was a very slow night and no one seemed happy to be working. Overall, it just wansn't worth the price. Did have an excellent bottle of wine. more

Thirty A has excellent food and service; however, it will not be on our list of must-visit restaurants for next year's trip. If "fancy" dishes are your thing then this will be right up your alley. Don't get me wrong, the sea bass was excellent and the strawberry-rhubarb tort was fabulous but I could have easily eaten twice this much... more

We ordered the lump crab meat appetizer. It was very good and loaded with crab meat. The lobster was one of the best that I've ever had. Very rich with flavor. The banana beignets (sp?) were very good as well. Our waiter struck the perfect mixture of attentiveness without being overwhelming. Overall we had a very good experience. We left... more

Be sure to check out Cafe 30 A next time you are around the Santa Rosa Beach area. They serve up great food with a very cool vibe. However, be sure to make note of the time you are going. Not only does it get very busy, it also gets very loud. If you are looking for an intimate time... more
