The restaurant is a small place in a strip-mall. Family staff is very friendly - clientele seemed all snowbird regulars. Apparently, reservations are required - but we got in with min wait. Nice, creative vegetarian and fish entree. Snapper was delicious. Go early, as they ran out of the specials. Of course, go early and you will wait! More

We went to Veg for lunch as a change of pace from Simon's Coffee House, our standard for excellent vegetarian and vegan food, and we weren't disappointed. Veg has a diverse and inventive menu that has some nice fresh seafood options. The restaurant itself is long and narrow, with a counter, in one of those long strip malls on Gulfgate,... More

My spouse and I had a wonderful experience here on Valentines day. We both eat a vegan diet, and for the first time, felt at ease at a restaurant. Even the bread served before the meal was vegan and locally baked. Suffice to say, We were well-catered to - one of the owners even made an appearance to talk to... More

Let me preface my review by stating that I am not a Vegan. However, this restaurant works fine fo non-vegetarians since they have lots of seafood. The avocado and shrimp appetizer was scrumptious! The hummus was likewise. Less successful to my taste was the eggplant appetizer. Our table agreed that the Escolar was the best entree. The scallops were also... More

We love vegetarian cuisine and Sarasota has no good veggie restaurants. We have been really looking forward to checking Veg out! First impression was positive. It was packed and the atmosphere lovely. The wait server was pleasant and attentive. She informed us that the water for the evening was pineapple infused. Good start to at best, a boring and expensive... More

This small Vegetarian and Seafood restaurant has the most inventive menu and the friendliest staff. I ordered the Portabella Volcano and it was to die for. Topped with caramelized onions and garlic mashed potatoes over sautéed spinach and quinoa! My husband had the potato latkes and I have never tasted better latkes in a restaurant!! I wish Veg would open... More

Having viewed both the reviews and menu on line we decided to give Veg a try. I wanted to order the atlantic char which was one of the night's specials. Ben was our waiter and he described it as being "sushi" grade and they serve it rare. I don't eat sushi and I like my salmon cooked all the way... More

I like when people with a vision open a small, independent eatery, and this one fills a void. (Remember Mim's downtown? Boy, do I miss that!) The folks are still pretty disorganized with the service, but they're putting together an honest effort. I had a very good starter Caesar salad. The dressing was homemade and delicious, and the lettuce was... More

Must stop here if you like vegetarian or fish. We ate the mezze platter and spanokopitas. Both were delicious. Highly recommend. Plus it's a family restaurant and the chef is the owner. More
