Living in the suburbs of Chicago, I make it a point to make a trip to this fabulous restaurant several times a year even though it is an hour away. I do love that on evenings and weekends they have a free parking lot which makes driving there easy. Their menu changes with the seasons so there is always something...

Every time I go to Chicago, eating at the Chicago Diner is on the itinerary... sometimes I'm lucky enough to make it there twice! I love being able to choose anything on the menu, and they've got all the classic comfort foods any good diner would have. Mmmm, their bacon burgers are scrumptious!
This place always has the best food. My daughter & I always eat here when I visit. So many wonderful things to eat! Great, friendly service. My daughter & I have dairy & gluten allergies and this place is always the best.
Lunch menu lots of choices, friendly fast service. Delicious! Tables and booths, very busy, kind of noisy, but happy chatter.
We were on a trip to Chicago, and I was hesitant to travel so far out, but boy am I glad we went here! The food was divine!!!! We got the BBQ Bacun Burger and The Reuben, both of which were excellent. Then we got vegan milkshakes to go that were unbelievable! Even if you are a meat-eater, you will...

OK I come from a smaller town without a lot of vegetarian, ok, one, restaurants. I was shocked and happy to have to wait 45 minutes for a table at the Chicago Diner even on a Saturday night on my latest visit to Chicago. Take the Red Line to Belmont (Or Addison) and walk to this classic Chicago vegetarian restaurant where you'd think you're eating classic American fare (BLT for me) but it's all vegetarian (Seitan, mostly). The neighborhood is worth walking around, and close to Wrigley Field.
This place is terrific. Ate lunch one day and dinner another and the food is terrific. Vegan/vegetarian and delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is fun. Wish there was one where we live.
I love going to a place where I can eat everything on the menu. As I am from the south that does not happen often. This place has lots of charm and great service and even better food. I had the saulsberry staek. It was great. I had never had seitan with that teture before. It was perfect.
