alfies is a beloved local place that we try every 4-5 years just to make sure we aren't missing something. We are not. Fried, tasteless food in dark, old decore. Went last night - fries tasteless - fish and chips looked freezer burned - kids said burger was ok - I saw pink on my son's. For those who enjoy... More

This is one of my favorite places to go for a burger. It's kind of a no frills place - the decor is not so new, but it gives it charm. I order the alfie's burger every time but it's because it's one of my favorite burgers. I always get the fried zucchini - it is the best I have... More

It's been the same for as long as I can remember...Even since moving farther away we still like to make the trip to Alfie's. It's a burger and fries type of place, nothing fancy. I highly suggest the cheeseburger with grilled onions but the fish and the Reuben are great as well. For a little more than fast food this... More

If you find yourself visiting the western burbs (huh?) this is a little place for items like burgers, ribs, tuna melts. Nothing fancy pants, folks. The inside is a bit dark per the knights/camelotish theme (there is an actual suit of armor!). You will see all ages here and expect a wait on weekend nights. There are TVs in the... More

Fried food, think 1970's style or a Meat and Three in the South, The 3 being over cooked barely green, starchy and iceberg lettuce with a creamy dressing. Ummm boy howdy nuthin says cement in the veins like that "home cookin". I go out for something I can not make at home, BUT it is always busy, so what do... More

We've been coming to Alfies since we moved to Glen Ellyn in 1994, and we have always enjoyed the food. Lately, I've been noticing that the owners need to invest in freshened chairs, booths, carpeting, etc. They could update the menu a bit, too -- though I certainly hope they keep the burgers that keep bringing us back!

Saw this place on Chicago's Best. They recommended the burgers as being some of best around town. Turns out they are good but not extraordinary. The place was very busy on a Friday night. Kid friendly. I had the blue cheese burger and it arrived as ordered and satisfied my hunger. Will I return? Maybe.

We have always loved going to this place to eat. We no longer live close, but whenever we are in the area, we make it a point to eat at Alfie's. Best fall-off-the-bone ribs you will ever find, plus lots of other great choices on the menu. The atmosphere is pub-like, but it is very family friendly. Try it once,... More

Alfie's is literally resting on its laurels. The food is mediocre, the surroundings are worn and dingy, but what absolutely corked us was the wait-staff! Everything from acting like she was doing us a favor by talking our order to insulting us that by ordering onion rings would cost a couple extra dollars -- could we afford that? The whole... More
