New place isn't nearly as good and the prices are much higher. Service dropped as well. I miss the Regatta.
This was my favorite place to eat in Lexington, adjacent to Joseph Beth Bookseller, a great place to browse and buy. But it was sold, remodelled and reopened April 15, 2013 as Palmer Grill. Not the same; not even close. RIP, Regatta Seafood.
BHG closed this restaurant earlier in 2013. The space is now occupied by Palmer's Fresh Grill. BHG never invested in this restaurant, and offered no promotion. Very sad.
This place used to serve really good food. BHG restaurant group took it over and replaced the good food with the cheapest food it could find. For example, real chicken replaced with processed chicken. Mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes replaced with one tiny mushroom cut into microscopic pieces over tasteless rice. Too bad this happened. Save yourself. Don't go there.
My wife and I heard good things about this establishment so we decided to check it out. The patio and bar area on the pond provided a very comfortable atmosphere. We were celebrating my husband's birthday like we do every year there. Great table on the patio, service was great, then the food arrived. My mahi mahi tasted like it had been frozen then thawed in the microwave then grilled. Asparagus was good. My husband had the fisherman's platter. Like previous review, heavily breaded. Very disappointed. We don't eat out... More
Took 20 minutes to get a cup of chowder and an appetizer. Clam chowder was really thick and seemed to be left over from the day before. Shrimp appetizer and biscuits were served without plates.
We stay at the Hilton Hotel right next to this resturant ... so as a matter of convience we go there for dinner. They have a wonderful patio situated beside a fire pond so the ambiance is great. They have musicians most nights during the summer and the staff are very friendly and courtious. All the right stuff for a... More
Decided to dine at Regatta because it was next to the Hilton where we were staying. Nice evening so we sat in the outdoor dining area. Very pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, the seafood was merely OK - a small step up from Red Lobster, but with higher prices. Service was very good.
