Sit outside on the water Absolutely beautiful views. Look at your fresh lobster in the tank Then eat like a king.
The only good thing about this place is its location and view. The clam chowder was whole clams cut up potatoes in milk. The fried clams were the worst I've ever had. The service was just as bad as the food. Way to expensive
We had lobster at Lobster Pound and McLaughlins Lobster Shack - hands down McLaughlins was the better meal. Similar price and sides. McLaughlins even made the 'eating' easier with their well placed knife slits. DELISH.
Why else would you go to a lobster pound but to enjoy the lobster? We had the shore dinner - fish chowder, corn bread, steamers, lobster (1 1/2 pound) - fries - corn on the cob - all for about $36. Not bad! We were stuffed. Fast service, great view, good food. It doesn't get any better on the coast... More
Found this place behind another restaurant and right on the water. A lobster eater most of my life and I have never eaten anything this fresh and sweet. Reasonable prices, and obviously where the locals eat. You can eat inside or outside on picnic tables while you enjoy the great view. My only regret was we were not staying in... More
The food was excellent. A little pricey for what it was. Good service. Enjoyed my fish and chips for $12.70. Haddock basket was excellent for $15.50 for lunch. Happy to find a place we could eat outside on the water with our dog.
This was the best meal we had on a recent trip to Maine and the Canadian Maritime provinces. After seeing one restaurant after another asking $25-$30 for lobster, cole slaw and a roll, we had a lobster, fries, corn on the cob and cornbread for $18. It's all takeout, but they have tables both inside and outside where you can... More
A very nice setting. My wife's clam chowder contained a few pieces of the steamers' "foot", my clam roll had the other parts, mainly batter, on a hamburger roll, and we shared a 20oz soda. $21.83. Maybe this is what they get from the tourist trade, but Tracy's seafood near Acadia sells packed lobster rolls 2 for $10, and is... More
McLaughlin's offers casual Downeast Maine dining at its best. No frills fried seafood, boiled lobster and steamed clams on paper plates eaten at picnic tables. How could you go wrong? The place is simply decorated and most tables are within sight of the Islesboro Ferry. The sound of the gulls and the scent of the sea are intoxicating and add... More
