atmosphere is great, trendy new bar with mirco beers on tap, food is very good and price is fair. I will be going back
I have visited Tycoons a few times for business, and personally. Overall, I rate the experiences very high, and will make this a regular destination, mainly for lunch. The food was good, the decor and energy is very positive and geared to the 25-50 crowd. I really like taking visitors to the basement bar. My only concern was with the accoustics... More
I went to this restaurant with a group of 12. The service was really good. I had Lake Superior whitefish which was prepared very well. Others really enjoyed the ribs. Drinks were very well prepared and tasty. Servers were wonderful and very efficient. Could a group of 12 ask for anything more? Building is neat- we went upstairs and checked... More
We visited Tycoons in April 2012. I am a local and I was excited to see what they had done with the old City Hall -- so much history! What a huge disappointment. First of all this place is LOUD. You can hardly hear your dining companion. Also, you could be dining anywhere -- they just took an old building... More
Expected way more considering the owners have the brewhouse, burrito union, etc... Servers were completely inept, we sat 20 minutes before anyone knew we were there...and that was a group of 7...finally had to ask a hostess to send a server...ridiculous. Food OK...they need to get their staff on the same page if they expect to make it...
The food is inexpensive and tasty for being such a beautiful restaurant. The beer is delicious because it is brewed locally at The Brewhouse in Fitger's. If you get the opportunity, take the elevator down to the -1 floor where the Rathskeller is located. They have an amazing selection of beer and drinks and you get an interesting narrative of... More
We met some friends at Tycoons to check it out and see if the food was as good as some of our other friends had said. Our waiter was friendly but would disappear for blocks of time. He forgot to bring a drink to the table (which I had ot remind him of), a side of ranch (which we had... More
I had a very good juicy mushroom burger here and I really liked the atmosphere. It's located in the old city hall. Good to see historic buildings being used.Very good service. Nice selection of microbrews that they make themselves.
Interesting place in up and coming area. lacks parking facilities close by to accommodate traffic in the area. The menu is only adequate and needs to be expanded. Service was very good and the beer was excellent and was what I expected with their Brewhouse linage. We had a fairly large group which was accommodated with a large window seating.... More
Stopped in for lunch since the place is new in Duluth. I definitely wasn't disappointed. Owned by the same gang that created Fitger's Brewhouse and Burrito Union, Red Star, etc. I went in expecting a lot and they delivered. The homemade dressings are delish. As always, the pita bread is warm and fresh. On this particular day, I went light... More
