We just went for drinks on a week night. Nice atmosphere, no parking issues as they have their own lot. Drinks were reasonably priced.
Despite the fact that we walked in the door 10 minutes before closing, we were greeted with a sincere and warm welcome. We offered to get our food to go, but they insisted we stay and showed us to a cozy table. Not once did they make us feel like we needed to hurry up and eat so they could... More
Tavolo V offers the best of St. Louis Hill-style Italian cooking outside of the Hill and for a reasonable price. The restaurant is inside what used to be an old garage, so you can still see the garage door on the street side, and the wall bears a street-art style mural in tribute to St. Louis. The food comes quickly... More
Tavolo V is the real deal -- if you want a genuine Italian meal, I strongly recommend Tavolo. We've tried nearly everything on the menu, and it's all absolutely delicious. The pasta at Tavolo shows that the folks in the kitchen know how the Italians really do it: the antipasti, the pastas and pizze.. it's all so darned good. The... More
Enjoyed the food and service from waiter Tobin! Delicious complimentary bread with Parmesan offered. I enjoyed the roasted cauliflower appetizer And the tomato heirloom salad. The red snapper special on risotto delicious but was so full from the appetizers couldn't eat much.
Dinner for four surpassed everyone's expectations: Mussels, Calamari and enormous meatballs were all big hits, but the Pasta Funghi was easily the best I have ever eaten (and I eat a lot of mushrooms). At least three varieties done in a perfectly seasoned broth served over Angel Hair pasta with shaved Parmesan left me wishing I could hold more than... More
Tavolo V is situated on the east end of the Del Mar loop in U-City right across the street from The Pageant. It's an easy walk from all points to duck into a friendly & lively ambience with tasty dishes. Try the soup, grab a drink, it's all fresh and all Italian. Worth a shot!
Liked everything! Wait staff was friendly and bread was awesome and especially good for dipping in leftover calamari or eggplant sauce! I would go there again and I don't even like calamari- I tasted my daughter's and thought it delicious!! BTW- there is plenty of interesting yummy food on the menu!!
We enjoyed the kick back atmosphere & chill drinks in this place. Dinner was great, try the specials, the soup was spectacular. Friendly service & a unique place, try it out!
We enjoyed the Delmar location. A bright location serving very enjoyable food. The roasted cauliflower was a nice starter for the table. I thought that the spinach appetizer was remarkable - extremely flavorful and a large portion as an appetizer, also, great value for $8.00. I enjoyed the Fra Diavolo and my wife thought the salmon was quite well prepared.... More
