Easy to see why this place is full early in the morning. Folks that live in the Portsmouth area know where to go for a good breakfast, including some imaginative dishes as well as the standards, served by people that make you feel like you're the most important customer they've ever had. We're from out of state and went there... More

The food here is nothing unique, but just good all-around hearty breakfast food. On weekends, expect to wait in the mornings, but weekdays are usually okay. Food is reasonably priced and service is attentive.

I've been going to the Golden Egg for many many years; too many to count. I usually go about 2-3 times a month when I'm in residence. The menu is fantastic and has most everything one could want; so many choices! The food is well prepared and at a good price point. My only negative comment is the women's bathroom.... More

This is a great local spot - when the weather gets better or on the weekends it is super crowded. The food is really very good but it ain't cheap either. The wait staff are great and food comes quickly

We love going to local places to eat, particularly for breakfast. This was the perfect place. Service was great, food was great. No complaints at all.

My family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast here this morning-even the picky, I don't like breakfast food kiddo! I know it can be busy, but our timing was perfect and we were seated immediately. There are so many choices, and everything at the tables around us looked so good it made our choices difficult. We left very happy and... More

I like the breakfasts here. My favorite breakfast foods at the Golden Egg are the Giant Cinnamon rolls (they'll make your eyes roll back in your head they are so good), the muffins, the danish, the croissants, the pancakes (chocolate chip, blueberry, banana, or cranberry), and the fresh fruits and cantaloupe. You will want to try their very own homemade... More

Crazy wait times and hurried service - it's simply unmatched. Their omelet's are amazing. Prices are reasonable and the staff is unbelievably friendly.

It is always a special treat to have breakfast at the Golden Egg. The food is amazing! I love the croissant sandwich, open faced goodness! You can't go wrong really, everything is delish!

We've been in Portsmouth a number of times over the years, and always meant to stop here. Sometimes we drive by & the parking lot is packed. We figured it must be a great stop! But I was actually disappointed. There are tables cramped all around & a counter to sit at, the decor is a mix between cute nautical,... More
