I have to say, that we have eaten here a few times, and the food is always good. I love the chicken salad on croissant, usually split this and a greek salad with the hubby. I've also had french onion soup that was fine, nothing spectacular but good, cobb salad that was yummy (but hated the blue cheese dressing, tasted... More

Despite my disappointment that the New Yorker (a rueben) was sold out, we had great sandwiches. We had a good chat with the owner, who told us the location will change this summer and likely the name also (perhaps to "Legends"), along with evening hours. Whatever it's name, seek it out.

My family and I were in Ruidoso last month, and went to Blue Goose one day for lunch and it was a cute place with a sweet staff! The trio with soup salad and sandwich won us all over! It was really good and they had lots of different breads to choose from which was nice! We will be back... More

We went in after being referred by a local store owner or a place for a simple lunch. Was a pretty good crowd for lunch and the light breeze made it more welcoming. Greeted with a great smile and sat inside. Goose eggs are a MUST get to start your meal!!!!! We asked for their recommendation of the menu and... More

This small restaurant is only open for lunch, so go between the hours of 11 AM and 3PM. The sandwiches are large and are served with your choice of a side salad. My husband had the New Yorker (a reuben) which he declared was the best he's ever eaten. I ordered the famous chicken salad sandwich which was also great.... More

It's a shame, but service was more than slow. As there was only a single cook in the kitchen, it was 45 minutes to get our food, this was after waiting 10 minutes for a beverage and another 10 minutes to get our order taken. The owners excuse was this isn't normally a busy weekend for them. Thankfully the food... More

This restaurant is small, clean, and inviting. We loved the chicken salad sandwich and the salads are huge! The only part of my meal I disliked was the cheddar chowder -- it is outrageously spicy, so beware! The best part: a slice of carrot cake! Eat here for lunch while in Ruidoso for sure.

Although we haven't been there personally in a while, we had wonderful pastrami sandwiches there when we did go about a year ago. We have recommended it to friends who thoroughly enjoyed the food. The prices are reasonable and the portions are hearty.

The Blue Goose is what the Village Buttery wants to be when it grows up. The atmosphere is just a little more pleasant, the staff is just a little more professional, and the sandwiches are a whole lot better. The quiche here is not as good. The pastrami sandwaich was served on generous, thick slices of dark rye. The pickle... More
