Prior to our most recent trip to Nashville, Tennessee (we reside in the Raleigh, NC area), I did some on-line research regarding unique fine-dining restaurants on our trip route (both to and from). Our goal was to spend a day or two in the Boone/Blowing area of NC on our way back from Nashville, so I also focused on fine... More

We went to Rowland's for our anniversary and were not disappointed. Every dish was creative and exquisite. Portions are small but, as a result, you can have multiple courses and leave the restaurant content - not uncomfortably stuffed. We had the mussels app, the seabass entree, and beef tenderloin entree. Finished off with the chocolate (earth) dessert. Every dish was... More

My party of four had dinner here during a recent visit to the area. The meal at Rowland's was one of the best we have ever had! Creative perfection from start to finish! Beautiful location in a fine "home" makes for a very cozy setting. Service was really, really good. Server was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. So many things to... More

We had the pleasure of staying at the Westglow resort and enjoyed dinner and breakfast at Rowlands. Service gets a resounding 5--Chris our server was delightful, knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. Mussel appetizer was fantastic--beautiful, flavorful and nice portion for sharing. Wilted spinach salad special was incredible. We had the sea bass and salmon entrees. Both were beautifully plated... More

Great place for a quiet get away and a good meal. In the evening the dining room next to the fireplace is best; during the day sitting in the enclosed solarium allows you to enjoy the views.

Blocking Rock has a fabulous secret - well not really a secret anymore - after all, their exceptional spa was voted #2 in the world by Travel and Leisure. What a gem, this is a beautiful spot for dining after a relaxing day of being pampered, or for a delicious and relaxing evening out. Well appointed decor, upscale dining with... More

Three of us had several meals during our stay at the Westglow and couldn't have been happier with the food and service. Their attention to detail and efforts to source from local and sustainable sources make Rowland's a must go if you are in the Blowing Rock area. There's a reason the seabass is always on the dinner menu: it's... More

From the personal attention to the food, you cannot go wrong eating here. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. It is a quiet setting in front of a fireplace and on Saturday evenings they have a pianist playing. Just a wonderful experience all around.

My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at the awesome Westglow Resort and Spa. We dined at Rowland's the first night. Here's our experience in a nutshell: old world (1919 construction) setting in this old mansion. Five tables in the main room (where we dined) and six in the "sun room" (where we ate breakfast). Only one other... More
