I have honestly never experienced sevice like it. Warm white wine (no apology), altered meals with no explanation (or apology), long waits between courses (again, no apology). Was really looking forward to a nice, local meal. Unfortunately we will be looking elsewhere!

I am really sorry that this gentleman found us lacking in May. I am also really astounded that the wine was warm as it comes from a very cold fridge and then served in ice buckets and as I am owner and waitress and also hate unchilled wine I cannot believe that I would have committed such a heinous crime!... Had a lovely evening at the Water wheel. The food was excellent. I had an amazing 20oz t-bone steak which was cooked perfectly, No fat or grissel. We were in a party of 6 and the staff made us all feel welcome and everyone agreed this is now one of the best places to eat in our area. Will defiently... More

Had two meals, the first was so good we booked for the following night. Lovely couple getting their business going and they have a great formula, we wish them well for the future. Second experience not quite as good as the first, the difference being it was Saturday night and a lot busier. They needed more staff, we waited about... More

This place does not look much from the road, but don't let that put you off because it was well worth the visit. We did have to wait a while for the food, but had been warned that there may be a wait so we were prepared. The food was very much worth the wait, it was all presented to... More

mMy mate and I stayed here for two nights whilst fishing at a nearby Trout lakes. The rooms were very comfortable and the service was polite and attentive. The restaurant food was very good and with a very extensive choice of specials made up for the poor fishing

This is a little Gem, has been in new hands for a year and is exceptional. The Welcome and food are excellent, a well run and clean establishment. Had three meals there and they surpassed each time. The breakfast is excellent. cannot fault anything. well done.

We booked this restaurant whilst holidaying just up the road. It was a birthday meal for myself and my husband. We read the reveiws before booking and decided to take a chance. When we arrived there was not sign to tell you where to go in. As you go in you go downstairs to the bar and restaurant. Unfortunately, it... More

We stayed at the Waterwheel accommodation for 4 nights and only ventured elsewhere on one night - which was a mistake. Their à la carte menu combined with their specials for the night left nothing wanting. I had the duck breast on 2 nights which was as good as anything I have had in France (where we live). The Lemon... More
