Description: Situated in an old church on lower Westheimer in Houston, Mark Cox, chef and owner of his namesake restaurant, Mark's, has given Houstonians, who have anxiously awaited his debut for years, a thoroughly unique dining experience. Offering Cox's own brand of American progressive cuisine, Mark's menu encompasses inspirations from many distant lands, indicative of America's true melting pot heritage. You'll find diverse styles of food are not intermingled in one dish, but rather American regional ingredients are fashioned in such a manner as to be reminiscent of a single culture's fare. Whether it's Asian or Italian food you crave, Mark's takes you there and back, with taste sensations which echo the authentic food of that land, coupled with Cox's own unrivaled American touch.

Lives up to the reviews, romantic, sophisticated, and intimate. This is everything fine dining should be. The valets are attentive, the hostess congratulated us on our anniversary. We were instantly whisked away to our cozy table for two. The menu is interesting and varied. Our dinner just melted in our mouths. Everything was prepared just as we requested. The pace... More

We dined at Mark's today for a work anniversary lunch. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the atmosphere, food and service. Several of our large (10) group had been to Mark's but it was my first experience. I am certainly hoping to get back there soon!

I like expensive and hard to find ingredients that can add that special something worth the price for the tasting experience. Cluttered together without good expression or definition of taste in meaningless. Six disappointed diners. Appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts ordered and tried and the a chocolate truffle for dessert was the only memorable gustatory experience. Very disappointing with memories... More

Really good restaurant, great Tuna and Chilean Sea Bass. What I missed is to have the Chilean Sea Bass with a Chilean Chardonay or any other Chilean white wine. Pistachio ice creame really good!

3/26/2013 was our first visit. my husband ordered the trio appetizer $26.95 and 1/2 Lobster for his entree $48.95. there is not a large vegetarian selection for me so I had the Citrus Salad $14.95. My husband really enjoyed his meal except for one thing that was on his appetizer plate. I have had better salads. Our server chatted and... More
