Nothing out of the ordinary, more like processed chain food. Very plain salads, ordinary margaritas, weak sangria. View ver the river was nice if you can get a table.

We were fortunate that the weather was very mild when we made out visit. Our table was on a deck outside overlooking the river. Beautiful view to go along with good and well prepared food. Our waitress was excellent. Kept the ice tea glasses filled without having to ask. The prices were reasonable.

Found this to be a unique restaurant. When you enter you give your name and wander into a courtyard. There is a big chalk board where your name is written when your table is ready. If you are in Gruene Texas you have to eat at the Gristmill it was an amazing dining experience from the time we enetered the door till the time we exited. Our young waitress Sara made pur experience at the Girstmill one of a kind. We will definitely coming back again!!!! You will leave this restaurant completely satisfied! !!!

This place is really neat. We ate outside on a pleasant evening. It was just perfect. The food was good too. I definitely recommend it.

Seems like all roads in Gruene lead to The Gristmill. The food is OK; nothing to write home about, and nothing awful. It's a vast place that seems to go on forever. The waitstaff are not very polished, but you WILL get a lot of food. If you're hungry and aren't fussy, it's a good bet.

First make sure you order the onion rings. Second, go when you're real hungry as the portions are huge. Order the burger and you can't miss. Of course they have all the local brews and cocktails. This was a highlight of my visit to New Braunfels, Texas.
