Inexpensive grits, great quality for price! Grits are grits, of course, but so far this is the only place in Port Aransas that I can find them.
This is a small place so try to avoid the times when there is a crowd to best experience the food. We had breakfast - one order blueberry pancakes, eggs, bacon and the other ordered the shrimp omelet. We were both very happy with our meals. Fresh, well made, nice presentation, great service, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The bacon was... More
Our party of three had fried shrimp and fried drum with good tartar sauce and standard red sauce. The seafood was very fresh. The French fries are hand cut and big and crispy. They offer no alcohol and we all wanted beers to wash down all the fried food. The owner did day we could go out and buy beer... More
As noted in other reviews, the place is very small and the service is pretty darn slow. We were there on a Friday morning. The employees were friendly and efficient. My husband had a traditional breakfast plate and I had a shrimp omelette. It was all good! I glanced at the rest of the menu. Their lunch choices are fairly... More
After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided to stop by for lunch. It was about 2 pm and they still offered selections from the breakfast menu. Full breakfast menu. Limited lunch menu. We went with the Classic BLT and the Fried Shrimp. A bit slow on on preparation and delivery, but he food was very good and worth the... More
Go for the plate-size pancakes, fresh eggs and bacon. The supermarket syrup was unworthy, however. The cakes deserve better. Open from 7:00 to 3:00 and is way small, so there might be a wait esp. on weekends.
Better get to Frankie's early. The food is fantastic and fresh every time!!! They serve breakfast and lunch on weekends mostly and the number of seats is small; however, the food is worth the wait! My favorite is the shrimp PO Boy and they use fresh shrimp in their batter, the French bread is real French bread and the rest... More
We had lunch there. There are not very many tables so if it is crowded find another place if you are in a hurry. The cheeseburgers were good but ten dollars for one was steep. The fried shrimp was ok but the friend shrimp was better. Took a long time to get served went through several sodas before the food... More
I visit port Aransas 4 to 5 times a year and always eat at Frankie's . On this last visit, a friend also from Austin, came with me and asked Frankie if she would make gumbo. The next day gumbo was on the menu ! Delicious. Frankie adds the crab and shrimp right before serving rather than cooking it with... More
We've been going to Port A every year for over 20 years and we have eaten almost everywhere, but still a few places elude us. I read all the reviews on Frankie's and let me tell you that they are correct!! We went Friday morning to have breakfast only to find out they are only open on Fri, Sat and... More
