This was our 5th time at Mariposa but our first time with the small plate menu. Excellent food and with 3 small plates - enough for most adults. It was our son's 21st birthday and they customized the dessert to fit the occasion. Excellent service, wonderful ambience.

What an amazing dining experience. Nestled in the heart of Deer Valley, this rustic restaurant hosts some of the best gourmet food in the area. The pan roasted Sea Scallops melt in your mouth and the Veal medallions do the same. Everything this restaurant serves is superior. You wish you could have more! we are not foodies. we are not wine drinkers. the tasting menu does allow you to sample many items from the menu. the dress code was not enforced. we felt overdressed compared to the flannel shirt and sneaker guests. Service was excellent.

The quality of food was good however the feel was pretentious. Definitely not good value. Mariposa's food was excellent, the service was great as well. I had the beef tenderloin and it was cooked perfectly. Wish the ambiance was a little nicer but it was just ok. For this, it fell from 5 to 4 overall rating. The food however is a 5 all day long.
