My wife and I ate here on the recommendation of the Inn where we stayed for the weekend. The meal we had was very, very good. We shared the Carpaccio to start, and it was very tasty. There seemed to be different layers of flavors in the dish. My wife had the grilled chicken, one of the best prepared chicken... More

I had to try the octopus, my wife was less adventurous. Food was great, atmosphere met our expectations, service was good enough. We dressed up but not required here. Great place for a nice night out, would highly recommend if you can spend a little more.

I called for a 9:00 reservation on a recent Friday night. I was told they could not take any more reservation but if we came in we could most likely get seated at a table in the bar. We arrived at 8:50 and were told by one person that the kitchen was closed!!! Another woman said " you must be... More

I have not been in this restaurant for many years and decided to give it a try again. The place used to be more like a couples place. This time, the restaurant was full of people, lots of noise, tons of fun. That was a great change. There bar where you can have drinks and food as well. The menu... More

Mostlly local food, mostly cooked from scratch. Everything on menu is interesting. Great atention to detail. Had not been for several years. Was good then, but this little gem has improved significantly- fine for an apres ski appetizer or a full meal. Range of prices but quality is there in least pricey items. Check it out. B&K

The Common Man is the most reliably excellent restaurant in the Mad River Valley. We went there for the Thursday Night pasta special. The service we very good, food excellent and the ambiance was typical Vermont. A wood burning fireplace in a converted barn. We shared the lemon bar dessert which was excellent!!

Jan 19 / couples - We were in Wastefield for a long weekend and made a reservation to this place without knowing what to expect. Wow!!! Was I surprised when I got into this place. I could have just sat there for hours in front of the large fireplace, it is very well decorated and very "chalet" feeling, very cozy.... More

I ate here with my two teenage kids during a ski trip. The food was on the pricey side, but very good. We had a reservation (very early, which was all I could get on the holiday weekend) and were seated right away. Service was fast and attentive. They had a fairly small menu, but with enough variety that all... More

The restaurant is very inviting and lively, has a great feel to it. Menu is not huge and everything looked pretty good. We started with carpaccio and oysters, both excellent. Our entrees were NY Strip and lamb sausage. Ordered the strip medium, but came out med-well and very charred. Not sure if that is how it is usually served, but... More

Had dinner and drinks at the Common Man on Saturday. We didn't have reservations (which is strongly recommended) but we were able to have dinner in the bar area. Dinner was great. The wine and beer selection are also varied, and they offer a unique variety of beer other than just your typical Budweiser. Great experience overall and would definitely... More
