I cannot wait to go back! We had a fantastic meal! We went after the wine festival and service was fantastic. The food was varied and delicious.
We were in town to see Michael Franti at the Norva and were looking for something not too heavy before the show. (you jump a LOT at his concerts ;-) We had some of the small plates and they were really delicious! The sesame tuna, spanish montado, and curry shrimp and scallops were seasoned and presented well. Service was friendly... More
The food rocks. Amazing Everything. Love the atmosphere and the beer selection. One issue we had was condensation dripping onto us from the ventilation ducts. Crab gnocchi is unreal. Can't miss with this place.
Wednesday nights - 1/2 lb of shrimp (steamed, Old Bay) + their "Simple Salad" (sans the bleu cheese) is a satisfying meal of subtle flavors, fresh product, and reasonable price point - less than $20 with tax and tip, no alcohol on tab. Atmosphere is good, service is great (staff remember your order without writing it down). I'm hooked!
We went to this restaurant in the middle of June. WE loved the food, the chef made a great presentation, the food looked as if it was prepared by one of those Chef on reality shows. The taste of my Paella was outstanding. My pallet truly enjoyed the food. The ambiance was just right. We had our children with us... More
I want to revise my 2009 review. They have greatly improved the draft and bottled beer selections. And of course now it is completely nonsmoking as the law has changed. The fried oyster appetizer was delicious on a recent visit and they have various special prices on some days during happy hour.
I lived in Norfolk 10 years ago and Bodega was our favorite restaurant. I went back to Norfolk at a business conference and had the opportunity to eat at Bodega.... and they still have it! Best food around! Meatiest crab cakes, awesome side items and veggies, interesting small dishes such as lettuce wraps, oysters and other seafood. Also has a... More
This is the restaurant where we chose to eat prior to seeing Wicked at Chrysler Hall. We had made reservations and were seated right on time. The waitress was excellent and even gave suggestions for drinks unique to Bodega. The crab bisque was delicious and so was the crab cake which we both ordered. We decided to share a salad... More
I've never been disappointed with The Bodega. Last night we shared a beer cheese fondue with long strips of garlic bread, crab cake with shoestring potatoes, and lazagna. Every dish was outstanding -- lick-the-plate-clean outstanding! I like that they serve each plate as it's ready, so hot food always comes out hot. It's a small restaurant but very chic with... More
