We called in for desert as a family group of 8 aged 5 to over times that age. A good selection of deserts, nice coffee and a great warm fire on an icy cold December night. We'll go back.
la Madeleine French Bakery & Cafe in Reston, VA is extra special to us as that was where we were enjoying a wonderful breakfast when we were told our first granddaughter was on the way, no really, on the w-a-y down the birth canal. I am not one to eat 'strange' stuff so when this place was suggested to me... More
This is one of my favorite french bakeries and prefer eating here over panera bread or corner bakery. They have a variety of pastries that are fantastic, but I mainly go there for lunch and or dinner. There's several pasta platters and salads to choose from. Their chicken friand with mushroom sauce is tasty and my favorite salads are the... More
If you love french country decor and sitting by the fire like I do then you will love this place. It is served quasi cafeteria style where you can get some foods up front and/or order and pay for the rest that they make and bring to your table. They have always been very friendly every time I have gone... More
My wife and I love to come to this restaurant. The sandwiches are great, and the french toast is to die for. We love the free sample bread and the cozy atmosphere. When in Reston, we always try to stop by this place. Our kids like it as well.
I always love this place. The guy at the front door taking orders was particularly friendly with great humor. The food came quick, it was delicious as usual.
I attended a bridal shower for a friend held at La Madeleine. Even though I have lived in the area for years, I had never been in the restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. I had a light meal (French onion soup, potato galette, and lemonade), and it was tasty and filling. Several friends ordered more substantial meals (salads and sandwiches),... More
We stopped here for a quick sweet snack and a pastry for taking to someones home. The bakery section was with good selection and was fresh. Worth a try.
The diner who expects to be seated, then be addressed by a waiter describing the specials of the day, will,be lost here. The diner must carefully examine the menu from the rack as you enter, then order the various dishes from the chefs and servers behind the food line. If you order an item that must be prepared, you are... More
A cafeteria-style restaurant, this place is always busy at lunchtime. They have excellent selections that are priced right. Their French onion soup is delicious and their salad trio choice is a big hit. I love their Strawberries Romanoff as light dessert to top off a rich meal. Their rosemary roast chicken is beautifully prepared. Pastries, while a bit expensive for... More
