This little place had the most fun atmosphere! We were greeted by the owner and informed there was a short wait, so she offered a complimentary glass of wine. The wait wasnt more than a few minutes and was well worth it! We sat at the bar, and got to see how all the action goes down. All the staff... More

Cramped, joyous, noisy, and fun! Not the place to propose marriage, but wonderful, upbeat atmosphere, and GREAT food. I had the ciopino with a friend. Others had scallops, and Crab Louis. Not real Louis dressing. If the other food had not been so great, I would have docked them a couple of points. Can't wait to go back. Buon apetito!

We went here about 2 weeks ago, a Tuesday night around 7:30pm and still only managed to score a seat at the bar. We ordered the Linguini with seafood and Grilled Sand Dabs (fish, recommended by the waitress). Both meals were cooked to perfection with delicious flavours. You can see the chefs cook everything, and all the staff were super... More

This is a great seafood restaurant in north beach. If like us you prefer somewhere less touristy where you know you get better value and its away from the gimmicks then this place is great. Quite hard to find and only small but the food was brilliant. We shared the seafood in tomato pasta which I recommend.

We took the plunge on this place based on TripAdvisor rating, and once again were not disappointed. The restaurant was as advertised a bit of a hole in the wall, and it comes across that way as you walk in, with all kinds of crazy "Buca di Beppo" done Ocean style eclectic over crowded wall thing. We were given a... More

We got to this restaurant late on a Thursday evening and joined the queue. While we waited we were given a free glass of wine which was a nice touch. We were seated within about 10-15 minutes. We were sat along a counter with the kitchen behind so it was really interesting and fun to watch all the action. The... More

During our recent trip to San Francisco we were recommended Sotto Mare in Little Italy/North Beach. Fantsatic Oysters, Crabs, Clams, Seafood Soup and small but OK drink list. Great atmosphere and service. Highly Recommended.

An excellent place for seafood. It has a small menu but here in lies it strength. They dont do a lot but what they do, they do it outstandingly. Went there on numerous occasions during my stay and tried a little bit of everything. And all i can say is that it was all consistingly good. The pasta was great,... More

My husband and I dined here on a recent visit to SF. We had a half crab appetizer, sole special, seafood pasta and a side of pasta with pesto sauce. Everything was excellent and served piping hot. If you like watching the chef/cooks, make sure to sit at the bar on the left. Great service.

This is probably the best seafood I have had. The restaurant is busy but worth the wait (seemed to be closed Sunday) there is a bar a couple of doors away that we popped to whilst we waited with our buzzer. Very reasonably priced for what we had, great atmosphere and would def return.
