As you walk down the stairs off Newbury Street you truly feel like you have walked into a Paris bistro. We have eaten at La Voile many times, most recently at the bar. The menu is classic French perfectly executed. Includes a bit of creativity but sticks to the traditions, nothing fusion about this menu. We had the chicken for... More

This was the best meal I've had in a French restaurant for a long time. It's a real French restaurant not a "continental." I started with a smoked salmon appetizer served on mesclun with some crumbled chevre and a toast point with salmon roe. My son had one of the foie gras appetizers. Then we both had the breast of... This a real french restaurant. There is a fixed lunch and diner reasonably priced. We tried a few dishes a la cart .A real delicious french onion soup and an excellent fish soup. I recommend also the beef tartar. We also tried the moules mariniere which disappointing.Reservation is recommended.

We went for dinner to celebrate and had a superb time. The escargots are well above the usual standard for France. The lobster and scallops with green pea risotto was sublime. With a St Veran from Burgundy we had the best food experience in a very long time. With a "real" French waiter and the decor to go with it... More

I stumbled upon this restaurant after not being able to get service across the street at Tapeo. What a lovely place -- warm and inviting, with quite competent service and delicious food. Really enjoyed it!

We went here Thursday night as part of a two day celebration of our son's college graduation. My husband and I were "foodies" long before being one became popular and we brought our sons up dining at fine restaurants since the time they were young enough to make the other patrons gasp in horror as we brought such young children... The food was very good, as we started with oysters, and then we shared a lobster roll (hot, with butter!!). Unfortunately, the restaurant has very limited seating, so it is recommended that one gets there early before the dinner crowd comes in so that you can easily get a spot that offers some elbow room

This is my third time at this restaurant and things are going in the wrong direction. To be fair the portions are generous and the service correct. But the fish was overlooked and the risotto over salted. They no longer offer valet parking, which on Newburyport Street was a serious problem, even on a Sunday night. Quelle donate.
