Very good table service, nice selection of wines, the seperation between tables made the experience more comfortable.
Great food and wonderful relief from the standard tourist grilled salmon, panini, or ravioli. On a recent trip to San Diego I used the internet advice on restaurants and was generally unimpressed. Then on our coastal drive back from the Mission Bay museums, we spied this jewel. After 8 years living in Germany and the excellent food, we gave up... More

Very much enjoyed a meal among friends here. It was delightful to see so many familiar beers from my time living in and around Germany. The good was authentic - perhaps not quite as good as being there, but considering we were in San Diego, I'd give this an enthusiastic thumbs up. Very helpful and attentive staff, left full, satisfied... More
The place is kind of old but their food is excellent. We were 3 people ordering several different dishes, and ALL were delicious. The waitress very helpful and patient. Their herring is super, and so are the schnitzels and the wieners. The German beer was so good and their apple strudel too. The area is not very nice in Point... More
I am German myself and always wanted to stop in here and eat. Got to go this past Saturday night. The food was good, but I remember my moms was better. Not to say that this was not good as it was. Parking could be sticky, but luckily we found a spot. All and all we had a nice visit.
During a recent Conference my colleagues went to a great German restaurant! I figured it must be authentic as I heard folks at another table speaking in German and others with a German accent. Needless to say the food was great!
Awesome place! I had a Wiener Schnitzel that was better than 90% of the Wiener Schnitzels that I had in Germany/Austria. Also the place has a very nice atmosphere and a nice selection of beers and other traditional German meals! Highly recommended!!
This place has been around for years, and it's the best German place I know of in San Diego. The food is consistently excellent. The specials are usually seasonal, so there's always something different to have. Downsides is first the location; at the north end of Ocean Beach the parking is terrible, so get reservations for early if you want... More
😃Everything was so perfect we came back the next night. Great red cabbage, potato pancake, cucumber salad, schnitzel. But beyond description was the goose (served only in season). Although the restaurant was full on a Friday night the service was flawless. I'ved lived in Chicago for too many years and enjoyed their fine German restaurants (many now gone) but this... More
