Better than average but there are so many choices in New York this was missing the wow. Fish dishes are excellent. Spivey guacamole was not even remotely spicey.
We had lunch at Noon today at Pompano. The service and food were poor. Service is slow and the staff pretty much ignored us the whole time. One of the diners received something that did not seem to be what was ordered and the staff basically said "too bad." It is overpriced, too. Disappointing.
My office held an event at Pampano a couple of weeks back. This was not my first time at the restaurant but may I say I enjoyed it more so the second time around. The atmosphere is very relaxing. The food is fantastic. The drinks are to die for. The service is supreme. I had some of each of the... More
First, for the positives: the second-floor patio is a lovely spot for an al fresco meal on a nice, sunny day. The interior is also light and airy - very nice. Otherwise, not a lot positive I can say about Pampano. The menu - from the wine list to the appetizers to the entrees - is really quite overpriced for... More
6 business guys from out of town converged on Pampano on a recommendation from a colleague. We were seated in the upstairs, outside deck overlooking 49th Street on a very warm August evening. The combined tables were connected somewhat akimbo and slanted in opposite directions, but that was the first and last concern about our outstanding dinner experience. After ordering... More

I tried the margarita after asking the bartender what his specialty was. In agreement with a prior review, I too was disappointed with its lack of freshness for being a 'signature... More
Our dinner at Pampano was fantastic. The portions were on the small side, but what I would expect for fine dining, and the perfect amount of food. I ordered the Caldo de Mariscos which had a flavorful, wonderful broth (aji amarillo). The paella de mariscos was one of the 3 Entrees to choose from on the Summer special menu for... More
My recent visit to this Mexican/Nuevo Latino restaurant was my first. It will also be my last. A friendly reception greeted me at the front desk, but I immediately was struck by the tired look of the decor. After being seated, I ordered a Margarita. Surely this would be a quick sign of things to come. Alas, this was one... More
We had beers and Margaritas, stay away from the Sangria pitcher and the insipid guacamole. The smoked swordfish dip was excellent, the rest of the food was imaginative, fresh, well prepared. Ceviche tasting was excellent. Main dishes all very flavorful. But the waiter? Come on, chewing gum loudly while taking our order is something I never encountered. This guy should... More
