Visited Bens. Looking for a great corned beef sandwich. Meal was passable but not terrific. Service was OK but not great. Probably wouldn't go back.
We found thisby chance & what a gem. The service was second to none, nothing was too much trouble. The food oh wow it was out of this world, it was the best we had in the City. We cant wait to go back to New York to visit this restaurant.
We usually go to the Carnegie deli but Ben's was close and we had not been there. The staff is much better here. Friendly and not as rushed. The corned beef sandwich was very good. We ordered extra lean which was probably a mistake since it was a bit dry.
Just a short walk from Times Square. Pickles and cole slaw arrive on the table as soon as you are seated. Traditional deli fare with generous portions and great taste. The lean brisket was delicious with the latke. Make sure you get the sour cream and the apple sauce. Attentive service with quick drink refills on a hot day.
Had to wait in line for a seat at lunchtime. The problem is I kept staring at the sandwiches as they came off the line! Couldn't wait to get seated. tables are small but not what you get. The pastrami was perfect as were the pickles and condiments. Ran circles around Katz's deli which used to be my favorite, but... More
This place is not only heaven for Jews, but also for Muslims with the delicious Kosher food and vast options. The menu is varied and everything I tried tasted genuinely delicious. People who served my husband and me helped us make our choices each time we went there and not once were we disappointed. Now that I'm not in NYC,... More
We stopped in our first night in NYC and had drinks from the very small bar area, sandwhiches and their pickles and cole slaw they automatically bring out. We had a great time chatting with staff and eating their delicious food. We had so much fun we went back a second time. Grest little spot with great atmosphere.
How we used to love Ben's Romanian tenderloin dinner. It came on a sizzle platter, the perfectly seared steak sputtering garlicky juices, perfect for mopping up with the ample bowls of potatoes and vegetables that came with it. The steak was large and cooked perfectly, charred on the outside, pink inside. The soup that was served first was hearty and... More
My friend and I had seen a Wednesday matinee and planned for a post-theater dinner at Ben's. It was delicious. We both ordered the turkey wrap. I ordered it without the garlic mayo. My friend had it with it. My friend ordered fries as well. The fries were yummy. The wraps had turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce inside. It was... More
We've eaten here at least once every time we visit New York, most usually when we are going to a show on Broadway. It's location is excellent, 4 blocks south of the 42nd Street Port Authority Bus terminal where we usually arrive, and then maybe 7 blocks north to the theatres. We never have a starter because we find the... More
