My partner and I ate lunch at the CIA. The food was good. Students were enthusiatic and accomodating (..... ? because they were being graded : ) and all in all an enjoyable experience. We ate all along the Hudson River including Stone Barns during our summer trip but the CIA was the most fun. Do it. more

We were so looking forward to our first trip to the CIA. We booked dinner reservations at American Bounty 90 days out to make sure we had a reservation. The campus is beautiful and the restaurant nice inside. The menu selection was weak - sorry but my idea of a great meal out doesn't include chicken breast, pork chop, or... more

Ate at the American Bounty restaurant this evening. The food was amazing. Had the three course price fixed dinner for $29 and everything was exceptional. Muscles were tender and tasty, chicken off the grill with the airline cut was so good I didn't want to finish and the dessert was excellent also. Really enjoyed the flight of three red wines... more

We attended the American Bounty restaurant on 8/5/09 with a group of twenty Veterans Nursing Home residents, many in wheelchairs. We had made reservations in advance, and were directed to the front of the building to unload our buses. What a view! It was a warm summer day, and the fountain sounded and looked inviting. We sere ushered into the... more

Here's the inside scoop on getting the best experience from any of the CIA restaurants. Our son worked both as a student and as an employee at American Bounty. He said that all you have to do is find out which dates are at the end of the students' stint in the restaurant. At the time, they worked only 13... more

I've been to all of the CIA restaurants and American Bounty is my favorite. They use very fresh local and "imported" ingredients in excellent combinations with flair and good taste! The student wait staff is a little uneven and almost overly helpful. more

The experience of dining at American Bounty, or any other restaurant at the Culinary Institute of america is much more than just a meal. It begins with the drive up the beautiful Hudson River Valley to the CIA's lush, green Hyde Park campus. You park in the cleverly disguised 2-level visitor garage and stroll around the campus with it's streets... more

I realize you need to be understanding that chefs and wait staff are students, but at the high price point they are using (main courses 26-29), you would expect superb food and service. We experienced decent food (some dishes quite good, and others not very good) and lousy service. Last time I ate at the French restaurant a couple of... more

American Bounty is outstanding; DeMedici not so much. Apple Pie Bakery is very affordable and has amazing pastries. It's totally worth the price for a special occasion! more

Ate at the Escoffier Restaurant (French) it was superb for food, service and ambiance! Not inexpensive but worth it. It has a view of the kitchen and the maitre'd gave us a briefing about the activities. The students are fun to talk with. Get reservations and arrive early and tour the facilities first. Wonderful experience. more
