I love the Ale Steak and the potato skins with BBQ appetizer. The mixed drinks are also very good!! Highly recommend!!
Three of us ate at Calhoun’s in Gatlinburg, primarily based on the fact that they claim to have great BBQ and reviews on TripAdvisor. I had a craving good BBQ so I was excited to go. I usually try some kind of sampler or combination so I can taste a variety of meats. I was very disappointed to find that... More
Cute place and good food. This was our last night and we found Calhouns, Cherokee Grill, and Smoky Mountain Brewery to all be very similar. So if you liked those restaurants, you'll probably like Calhouns. This one obviously specialized in BBQ which I didn't have, but 3 of the 5 I dined with did and said it was excellent. We... More
After one gets seriously weary from all of the walking amongst the tourist trap establishments, going to Calhouns, which was recommended to us by a cashier from one of the Inspirational shops, was the perfect ending. We were seated within moments of walking in and felt comfortable amongst the other patrons. From the hostess to the server, one couldn't of... More
Ate at Calhoun's for the first time last week after having it on my to-do list for our last few trips to Gatlinburg. Three of us had their famous ribs. I had the full rack of ribs - very satisfying - while the others had the half-rack. Kids menu was full of choices, as well. Service was adequate, if a... More
Great tasting BBQ, very pleased all around!!!!!!!! Just a little too noisy for me.
We were pleasantly surprised with the high quality of the food and the service. We actually did not get bbq but rather the dinner specials. One us had fried trout with coleslaw and fries; the other, wild salmon with rice and fresh broccoli. Both meals were quite enjoyable. We split a very nice (and large) strawberry shortcake with mounds of... More
Overall, this was an average experience. The food wasn't bad - but it wasn't anything excited. I'd describe it as "generic BBQ". The sauce was just average; no real flavor to it. Between the four of us we had ribs, chicken, pulled pork - and none of it really made me feel like I needed to go back. The service... More
We used to be a big fan of Calhouns, but I think we will have to pull Calhouns from the restaurant rotation since there are several other places much better than what they've become recently. Hate to say this as I've been one of their biggest allies over the years, but the facts are what they are. Two borderline bad... More
Oh my gosh it was awesome. The ribs were phenomenal and the sauce was enjoyable. Chicken tenders and the honey mustard was very good. Service was awesome. When you were exiting the front door the Manager met you at the door and thanked you for coming. Music was the oldies. Price was reasonable. Whole rack was $20. Will go back.
