This place was close to the Overture Center where we were seeing "Wicked". Made reservations for an early dinner, although we didn't need to. Definitely try the goat cheese filled dates for an appetizer, and the "lobster bisque was amazing". My husband and I both enjoyed our salads. The service was excellent and they even treated us to a complimentary... More

Ate their tonight with my wife and UW-Madison student daughter. Nice atmosphere but loud. We ordered the 3 course graduation meal. My wife ordered the green goddess salad and loved it. My daughter and I ordered the lobster bisque and it was almost tasteless. I've never seen my daughter not finish her bisque except for tonight. For our entree, my... More

Attended with a large group, so we had a special menu. The staff was excellent and handled the group with grace and ease. They made our night extremely pleasant. I don't really like figs, but these stuffed figs are warm and delicious. I would go back just to have that appetizer again. That being said, the salad (beets and greens)... More

We brought about 25 people here for a company dinner during the Epic Systems Forum. Arranged a pris fixe menu in advance with the group coordinator (Fred). The restaurant came through for us in all respects. Great food, great service, excellent wine list with many nice wines available by the glass, and surprisingly inexpensive. 43 North is the latitude of... More

My wife and I celebrated our 30th there last night. I chose A43 because I knew it would be a different dining experience- and it was. We started by ordering a bowl of chilled mussels. Diffferent, and I must say, not my favorite way to prepare mussels. My wife had a duck confit, and it was excellent- and a meal... More

Four of us went here a week ago, and only 3 other tables were seated. Things started out OK with the baguette and date appetizer. A followup salad was also good. Then things took a turn for the worse. All four ordered different dishes, and started to wait...and wait. Tables that were seated after us, were already served and done... More

We have been here several times. The first couple of times the food was excellent. The last couple times, it was just OK. Appetizer stuffed dates tasted old and dry. Hen dish overcooked. Noise level, as seems to be the "in-thing" is very loud.

I appreciate value and the quality/price equation works at 43 North. Innovative menu without going off the deep end of exotic. The addition last year of small plates/large plates has made it so much easier to be adventuresome with your dining companions. It's not true tapas, but still easy to experiment and share without getting stuck with something you don't... More

I visited 43 North during Restaurant week with 4 friends, and was very pleased with each of our dishes. I had the Pork Belly appetizer - which was especially excellent with the perfectly done pork. Often Pork Belly can be fatty and not cooked very well, leaving either kinda chewy and not pleasent, or much too crispy and overdone. Not... More

Wonderful food in a sleek, yet comfortable setting. The written menu fails entirely to describe the exceptional food. My husband and I opted to share a large salad and three small plates. Each dish was beautifully presented with surprising small flourishes such as avocado fritters with the green salad. All 3 small plates were delicious--my favorite was the Wagyu beef... More
