The menu is small but the whole point is cafe au lait and beignets. Which the beignets were great just be prepared for the sugar high from the powdered sugar and a much needed nap after the sugar crash!!

We stopped for a coffee and beignet snack one afternoon while walking around the Quarter. How can you go to NOLA and not stop? The beignets we got were well cooked, light and airy. The two of us shared one plate of three, just about the right amount. I ordered an iced coffee, but they had to substitute a different...

If you go no other place in New Orleans you should always at least go to the Cafe du Monde for beignets and coffee. The hot French donuts are smothered with confectioner's sugar and the coffee is black and strong. It's open twenty-four hours a day and always hopping. Be sure to walk around to the side to watch them...

Remember when you would go to an amusement park or a carnival and you would get a funnel cake? The soft, pillowy sections were my favorite. The beignets at Cafe du Monde tasted similar to that part of the funnel cake, but without the soft airiness or the crisp. I'm not sure how long those beignets hung out before reaching...

I had never had a beignet, but now I'm hooked. Delicious, warm, and satisfying, you will not be disappointed. Don't be discouraged by the long lines. Try to go at off hours since they are open 24 hours. There is a take out window as well. We visited Cafe Du Monde twice in 4 days and are are still missing...

A trip to NOLA is not complete without a stop at Café Du Monde. Hot Sugary Beignets and Frozen Café Au Lait. Only downside is because it is so popular it is crowded. You have to stalk around like a vulture for a table.
You're told that when you go to New Orleans you must have beignets, fried doughnuts doused in powdered sugar. This place is right on the river at Jackson Square, and like the other tourists, we went. You need to find your own table. There is a limited menu. Getting your coffee refilled is difficult, since the goal is to turn...

I ate here late night the last night on my trip maybe the food wasnt all that fresh but i wasnt impressed. I actually liked the ones I got in the airport better.
Ok, we went here on May 7,2013 and even though it was very crowded we found a place to sit rather quickly. I think the beignets were good but I don't quite get the hype. I was expecting much more but they do alot of business so there is something to be said for that. The coffee is not cheap...
