....Confronted with food this innovative, you will want to splurge and go ala carte. The crab gnocchi much discussed here were indeed a small portion, but were at the level of Le Bernadine. This is well thought out, innovative food without a single misstep. All conversation stops when the food hits the table, the ultimate compliment. The staff is New... More

I ate at August with 3 others and we all enjoyed it very much. All courses were excellent from the appetizers to the main course, desert and drinks too. I had a trout special that was very good. The prices run high but you get what you paid for. The service was top notch - very attentive without hovering. My... More

My wife and I went for dinner our last night in NOLA. We shared every course. the gnocchi was superb! The artichoke app was very good. the breaded trout almandine with crabmeat was excellent. he lemon tart was delicious. We enjoyed a somewhat sweet Reisling with our dinner. we were seated InI the small middle room which was very cozy.

We were just looking for a top-rated restaurant within walking distance of our hotel. "August" turned out to be among the best restaurants we have been to in many years. One of the items on the menu, "cauliflower steak", seemed weird. (I would never eat cauliflower.) The diners at the next table asked our waiter about it and he went... More

My wife and I went here for lunch and were very impressed. The service was outstanding and very friendly and the food was incredible....great presentation also. The decor and ambience of the restaurant is probably the best of any restaurant we have been to in New Orleans. August is definitely on list of restaurants that we will return to next... More

As John Besh's most upscale restaurant, this service was sub-par. The setting was beautiful and the bar was really cool. The food was excellent from start to finish, but the wait staffs attentiveness was lacking all across the board (i.e.- forgetting drinks ordered, not much knowledge of the wine menu). If the service had been better, this would absolutely be... More

Had a lovely romantic meal with my hubby here on our last night in the city. He started with the kale salad which was bright and clean - I indulged in the gnocchi with cream and black truffles- it was very decedent and worth every calorie! I then had the roasted lamb and he had the trout - both were... More

We were so looking forward to celebrating a friend's milestone birthday at August. We arrived with high expectations and big appetites to try upscale New Orleans fare. The food did not disappoint: gorgeous soft shell crab, the most delicious trout amandine I've ever eaten, a delightful amuse Bouche served in an eggshell with cauliflower, curried oats and a cauliflower foam...the... My wife and I had an excellent meal at August. It was a very refined dining experience, but the atmosphere wasn't stuffy. It’s located in an old tobacco warehouse and the interior architecture is stunning. All of our food was excellently prepared and the presentations were impeccable. The sommelier helped us pick out a great wine that went well with... More
