Went to the tavern for a late lunch. We found a table right away and were waited on as soon as we sat down. My husband had a shrimp po boy. The kitchen sent an extra basket of shrimp because the cook thought he may need more on his sandwich! I enjoyed the roast beef po boy and wasn't disappointed.... More

It's all been said before...Parkway is an institution. Go for the fully dressed surf and turf. A half will do you, unless you're really hungry. Read the back of the menu for the history of the place.

Parkway Bakery is a must for those who live in and visit New Orleans and want the real po-boy experience. The sloppy roast beef, fried shrimp, and alligator sausage po-boys are some of the best in town. There is a near miss, however. The surf and turf--shrimp and roast beef combined--pretty much makes the worst out of both po-boys. I... More

Just a skip from the Quarter, and a few blocks from the festival fairgrounds. We tried Bear's, and they are good (Bear's French fries and most especially the onion rings are divine), but for a warm -and-juicy-on-inside and crispy-the-outside roast beef dressed, this is the best. Come have a poboy with a longneck Barqs, or a special Pimm's Cup. Oh... More

Roastbeef poboy complete with lettuce and pickles and a rootbeer. I think it's one of my top ten meals ever. Not alot of atmosphere but when the food is this good, who needs atmosphere. If you're in NOLA, a visit to the Parkway is a must in my opinion. The meat and gravy were tasty and the crusty bun was... More

Many people in New Orleans will tell you this is the best po-boy place in town. It is very crowded (we were lucky to get a place at the bar for lunch on Good Friday), very casual. Considering how busy they were, our service was prompt. The shrimp po-boy was tasty and loaded with shrimp. Was it the best in... More

Very casual place that is super popular. Any kind of poor boy sandwich is available. Food plentiful. Prices reasonable. I tried the fried shrimp poor boy, my very first & it was loaded with shrimp. For you Northerners, kind of like a grinder/sub sandwich. On weekends, lines can be ling, but moves quickly.

The po-boys here are some of the best in the city. They are over stuffed on crispy french bread. We were there Sunday afternoon and they only offer oyster po-boys one day during the week. The roast beef and shrimp po-boys were delicious!! We got the bread pudding and banana pudding for dessert. The bread pudding was wonderful! The banana... More

A very old restaurant & bar located in a "mid-city" neighborhood. On street parking. Just a short hop from downtown N.O. Could take the Canal streetcar & walk app.4-6 blocks. Orleanians have eaten here for 70 or more years. Let's say "It's where the YATS are at." :-)) (I'm one!) The poboys are exactly what New Orleans poboys should be...esp.the... More

Go to the parkway for the best poor boys. We had the corned beef with Swiss cheese, alligator sausage, and the banana pudding. All were very good
