Canlis, with a reputation which precedes itself was disappointing in some ways and very good in others. The service is impeccable. The view outstanding. However, I have to agree with one of the other reviewers, the piano music is very loud and almost deafening if you are waiting for your table in the bar area for any length of time.... More

If I am going to pay for a really nice meal, I want to eat something inventive and surprising, as well as delicious. Canlis delivers on that 100%. My husband, sister-in-law, and I all did the tasting menu (one person did the vegetarian tasting menu), and every single dish was amazing. The cured tuna was probably my favorite (and a... More

Wonderful anniversary dinner on a Friday night. Super view, outstanding service by knowledgeable friendly staff, low noise, correct lighting, comfortable seating, and most of all the food was extremely kind to the palate and tastefully presented. Between the four of us we had duck breast, halibut, hamachi, steak tartar, Canlis salad, creme brulee', Canlis souffle, cheese plate. We shared and... More

What an utter disappointment. We’ve been going to Canlis for many years and considered it one of the top restaurants in the city—in a category of its own, really. But the other night we had a disappointing meal with a shocking bill. They have recently eliminated the a la carte menu options and now require diners to choose a 3-... More

I took my sister here for her birthday, and I must say, I felt like it was my birthday! We ordered a 4 course meal that was absolutely Amazing! She had the halibut and I had the Wagyu fillet. Talk about melt in your mouth! WOW! I think we also had the best seats in the house overlooking Seattle. Very... More

We went to Canlis with few of my colleagues. Food was very good, not service. Girl who was opening bottle showered my friend with champagne, but instead of exuse, just run away:) Funny, but not polite

We had a table for the evening-- always the way it goes I guess--and you pay for it! Great view above Seattle, wonderful food, very relaxed and indulgent service, but not at all intrusive or obsequious. Very very fine.

Very nice setting with a view of South Lake Union and Gasworks Park. Nearly flawless service as one would expect from this caliber of restaurant beginning with the valet. With reservations we were seated promptly and ordered cocktails. We later ordered appetizers while reviewing the wine list. The wine list is impressive and highly marked up. $1500.00 for a bottle... I went to Canlis with a group of girlfriends last Friday night. I have been once before, with Hubby on my birthday a few years ago. It is just as amazing as I remembered, if not better. We arrived during the dinner hour, and were seated at our lovely table with a view. Service was very attentive, we were never... More

Canlis is a beautiful restaurant with over the top service. The food is very good, but that isn't the reason you go there: What hooks you is the service and attention to detail. Our group of four was celebrating a retirement. We had had the tasting menu with the accompanying "classic" (five generous servings) wine service. One great advantage of... More
