Great food and amazing surroundings. Staff were pleasant and food is very well presented. Upstairs is a large viewing platform for some great photos of the lagoon.
We ate lunch here along with LOTS of other tourists. This restaurant has to gear up to handle the masses, so the atmosphere leaves something to be desired - unless you're lucky enough to get one of the window tables. The food itself was very good.
We had about an hour to have lunch here before we went back to the airport. It took about 20 minutes to even order a glass of wine, 45 minutes for the food to arriver although the restaurant wasn't busy. My husbands main was a decent size, however, my main consisted of 3 thin slices of fennel and 9(!) mussels,... More
We had amazing food at this restaurant - but the amount of food was the smallest portion I've ever been served for a restaurant meal. After dinner and dessert both my husband and I left hungry. The taste of the food was excellent, but the size resembled what you'd get as a side dish on the plate, not as the... More
I agree with smoke58. I thought the food was very good (monkfish was better than the catfish, but it is all just a personal preference). The service was very slow, and the waitress was not totally clear on what the deal was (we had a credit from the luxury package, but when we asked questions she seemed unsure of exact... More
Food was spends, but delicious. Icelanders know fish and preparing it. So would give food a four. Service was slow. This was one restaurant I was expecting good service, as everything else was very good, but alas it was not. I had to find server to get order placed, served and check. Lunch taking 90 minutes when one is trying... More
The quality of the food was subpar and service was poor for a restaurant of alleged quality. The appetizer took a little over 45 mins to come out. You had to basically stand up and flag down the waiter if you wanted anything. The food was slightly over salted. Basically a big disappointment.
We ate here whilst staying a night in the blue lagoon clinic ( hotel). Surroundings- the restaurant overlooks the blue lagoon and is built into the lava field. There were about 20 diners in a large room, not intimate surroundings but the tables were far enough apart to not be overheard and as we had a corner table overlooking the... More
Very well thought out dishes on the menu not so dissimilar from high class restaurants we have visited before in London. Top class cooking at a very reasonable prices...
