Went here on a recent Saturday around 12 noon. They said half hour, but it was more like 45 minutes. Great decorations! Staff was pleasant. The food was great! The waffle maker broke when they went to go and make my waffle & made it into a pancake! It was delicious!!!! The waiter kept coming out to make sure we... More

It was a bit of a walk from Back Bay to Cambridge for breakfast, but it was worth it. This was my second visit over the course of two years to this restaurant, and it was as good as I remembered. The kitschy 1960's relics add to the charm of the experience. The menu consists of a vast variety of... More

My wife and I have been here a couple of times, and our most recent visit was just as good as others. The fact that they offer gluten-free options is a big plus (the pancakes are actually quite good). I had the "Mexican Mashed Meal" - if you're a fan of potatoes and enjoy some spice, this is a great... More

You're back in the 60s with the retro decor and art deco dishes. The food was excellent and the portions were good sized. We had the waffles and french toast with the fruit topping. It's a bit tricky to find, but worth the trip. They are not fans of credit cards, though, so bring cash.

We selected this venue for a casual get together. The service was excellent and hospitable. The environment is retro and energetic but not so noisy as to prevent reasonable conversation. The beans and brown rice were delicious and the stir fry is recommended. Portions were generous. All in all a great value and efficient experience.

There's some things we love about this place. The breakfast food, served all day, is tasty, unique and filling. Love the kitchy 50's decor and furniture. And its proximity to the Kendall Square Cinema (our favorite theater in Boston) makes it the perfect place to discuss a great movie with friends after the show. The problem I have is that... More

We had read about The Friendly Toast and their incredible menu which features vegetarian and vegan choices,so on our last morning in Boston we decided to trek over to Cambridge to try breakfast at this fun spot. It takes a bit to find because it's in the very last place you'd expect...the main floor of an office building! Once inside... More

Like the other reviewrs I appreciated the funky vibe here. We went for brunch, but since we were on vacation, we didn't arrive until 1pm. There was no wait at alll. I got the gingerbread waffels, they were delish, a little over cooked around the edges, but that kept me from over eating anyways. My hubby got the days breakfast... More

lots of food choices and good service, if only we hadn't had to wait for almost an hour... So don't go at noon on Sunday unless you want to hang out w/ many many 20 somethings playing w/ their smart phones & catching up w/ their friends.

Always a great meal at The Friendly Toast! Gigantic pancakes, delicious spicy pan fries, TONS of veggie/healthy side options, and lots of unhealthy ones, too! Check out all the tea selections. Just like the one in Portsmouth, lots of delightful, Hipster kitsch!
